I would have grabbed the keys from Snoop, went inside and cancelled anything that was in process and left for the nearest auto parts store after i saw that before they did any more damage and wanted to charge me $500 for a starter they burned up.

I finally got around to installing the yellow Bilstiens i got from Nick on my 1 ton dually, all i can say is WOW. Like i got a new truck, thanks for the reccomendations Nick!!!

With my '93 3500 dually, 2 wheel drive 4.10's i get 13.5mpg at 65mph towing about 8000lbs. If i go to 75mph i get about 10mpg, if i slow to about 55-50 i get 14-15mpg. Unloaded i get about the same, maybe 1mpg better which i think is more because of the 4.10's. I usually run with the cruise...
I'm pretty sure the ecm is behind the glove box, also get as much of the ecm to engine/trans wiring harness as you can - that will make the swapout much easier.

Hi guys,
I scanned my FSM for the '93 models today, i'll attach the set for the auto tranny, let me know if you need the set for the manual. It appears that the lift pump is powered through the purple/white stripe wire when the starter is engauged? The OPS when the starter is not engauged. I...
I agree with Doc, let the OPS run it like it's supposed to. Sorry about not posting the schematic/diagnostic page sooner for the '93. It's not that i'm "unwilling to post" the schematic, i loaned my FSM to my brother-inlaw to fix his truck and have not gotten it back. I will get it back this...
In the latest Maxxtorque they had an article on Bill's bonneville runs, good stuff. Bill mentioned using Tim's FTB mod when they interviewed him in the article, the mod is a really well thought-out improvement and deserves a BIG thanks to Tim and all his help, information and time with these...
Sometimes the old gasket will stick on the filter housing and the new filter will either leak or the screw on retainer won't go on straight or at all.

I'd open the water drain petcock, see if the lift pump is pumping fuel first. If the lift pump isn't pumping, fix that and go from there. (See lift pump diagnostics/troubleshooting in the sitckys) If it is, have a look at the fuel filer - maybe change that. When i bought mine, it sat for about...
I had an overheating issue whe i first got my truck, i replaced the one that was in it with an Autozone one. It still overheated, i then got a robert shaw no problems since. I did clean the cr*p out of my radiator, A/C condensor and fluid coolers first.

My '93 also unlocks when the pedal is "released". But if i keep any amount of pedal down it will stay locked even when the truck is deaccelerating. I've been working out of town a lot and haven't had a chance to get my original '93 tranny out of my storage area and ohm the TCC solinoid out, my...
I've been really happy with my 6.5 dually, pulls whatever i stick behind it and i still think the bodystyle is the most attractive. Guess i'm biased, i have 3 that are all similar but only 1 6.5. :o) 2 - '93 models and 1 - '97. :smile5:
Don
The dorman 82601 looks just like the one on my '93. Of course it's not a pressurized cap as the '92-93 models are old-school types with the pressure cap on the radiator and the overflow is just a catch-can. :smile5:

Last week i had a similar experience at AZ. Needed a heater blower relay/control module for my '94 Caprice, it was $83 online. Went to the closest store and i about crapped when they said $188!! I showed them the online page, didn't matter still $100 more. I got pissed off, sent a complaint...
Running it some and making it reliable, then doing enhancements is what i did with mine. I bought it in "kinda-running" state, took me several months to get it reliable and me get used to the 6.5 engine. For what i use mine for, it fill the bill very well, good luck.

I thought he said he unplugged that connector at the IP and it died immediatly, that's why i suggested the switch on the column, but i could have read it wrong. lol

I agree with gmctd as well, change the filter/fluid note what's in the bottom of the pan and drive it. I'd also do that again in like, 5 or 10K miles. I would avoid a flush, i've had bad experiences with those - i think that flushing stirrs up debris that's better left alone. The...
That sounds like the actual switch, not the key cylinder itself. The switch is on the column more or less where it goes by the lower dash, actuated by a rod from the lock cylinder. That's pretty easy to change, unlike the cylinder itself where you have to take the steering wheel..etc off. Also...
