When i did the pillar gauges in my '93, i used the Stewart Warner set with pyro, trans temp and boost. I've had those for about 2 years, very happy with them. I wouldn't run the fuel line anywhere in the passenger compartment, the isolator is a must IMO. Every racing organization in the world...
I know International has a plant in Canada, and i'm sure Bobbie knows what real GEP heads look like as he just sold a set. Sounds like GEP heads to me.

I don't recall Buddy saying he modified his glow controller or circuit in any way, or it mis-behaving. We in the 6.5 community have had issues with "WAP" glow plugs in the past, symptoms very similar to what he described with the autolites. I've had personal bad experiences with the "WAP" glows...
I've had the HO water pump on my truck for about 2 years with the single thermostat setup, no problems thus far. It cools great that way, i bought a new dual thermo housing/waternectr/delco thermostats but i think i'll sell those and stay with the setup i have.

I bought the complete set back in '94, there are 4 books total. The 2 bigger books like that one, and one electrical book that's about 50 pages but it's 11x17" and the last book which is on emissions - it's not very thick either.

Yup i totally agree with it not being ran much at all, i dont think all the piston tops were even black!! Everything i saw looked new or nearly new, kinds odd though about the oil pump as that's the one it came with. Looks just like i remember it looking, hope the machine shop give ya good...
With your fuel turned up on the 4911 i'd go for more boost, bump it up to around 10psi. With more fuel and the stock 5psi that these trucks had it's begging for mor air. When i turned up my '93 1/3 turn i fabb'd a turbo master bumped that to 11psi and my milage went up several mpg while towing...
The bidding starts at $150, but it goes up pretty fast especially when mass engine builders like the "depot" ..etc start bidding on them. Mine both were about $1100 / each, if i could have gotten them for $150 i would have bought a boat-load of them. :D The containers on mine were junk...
When i registered for the auctions, it took a couple of weeks to get my clearance for the auctions. In '08 i had to get a TWIX card for airport * military security (i work in the petrol industry and we work on military jet fuel systems a lot) so my clearance went pretty quickly as i already had...
Good stuff Bobbie,
Glad to see the pics, should be an interesting buildup. From what i've seen on these military engines, they are either really clean and nice or they have had the snot ran out of them. This one looked really nice, aside from a little rust IMO. Keep us updated, thanks again.

I used some 1/4" rod when i built that one, threaded one end and bent the other into a 90 & stuck it in the turbo wastegate lever. I think i did have to drill it out a little and the canister hole as well. I messed with several springs, but wound up using one off the rear drum brakes from an old...
Bobbie, that was good work getting it back in and all updated!! Sorry to hear about the #8 crack, hopefully you'll get the stuff you need and get it back on track soon. :smile5: Wish my engine bay looked as nice ad clean as yours!!
Keep us posted, good work all in all !

First thing i'd do is check with the CARB people and see what the emissions BS they will hit you with. Here in Atlanta we use the CA IM240 type testing and they really frown on "modified" autos and will give you a rash of crap to go through for a modified auto. I did a conversion a few...
Here is the one i built for my GM-3, i replaced that with a GM-8 but can't find the pics i made of that one. I took the "tuna-can" and used my bench grinder to take the lip off the edge. I tossed the top, used some 1/4" rod threaded it and used a locknut on top. Took me about 15 minutes, really...
When i did mine, i went in through the little triangle window under the throttle levers. I cut down an allen wrench somewhat shorter to just the right length, made it a lot easier. I had my wife look through the mirror to find the allen hole while i turned the engine over with the breaker bar...
With the engine being locked up, i'm at very least take out the pistons&rings and hone the cylinders a little. In the cylinder bore, where the piston/rings were there will be a semi-circle of rust. The aluminum pistons don't rust to the cylinder walls, the iron rings do. I've had several...
Yea all the stereo people are just money-grabbing monkeys in my area. lol I found some of those keys at Advance Auto a couple of weeks ago, i had to pull those to get the dash out of the camaro i'm working on. The dash bulbs that GM uses a lot of the time have the actual bulb part soldered to...
