How many miles do you have on the turbo? Mine took several miles to really "break in". If I recall, it took 5000 miles before the turbo was really settled in. I can see 10 psi if I stand on it empty. I do not tow anything so I cannot tell you what it would do with a load.

I had the same problem in Minnesota a year or so ago. The temps were the same if not a little lower. I knew I had a fuel issue since I could hear the lift pump hammering due to lack of fuel and after bypassing the fuel pump relay I opened the top of the fuel filter no fuel came out. I tried...
That is the unit.
You will still need your original OPS for your oil pressure gauge. Originally I put in a brass T fitting below my factory OPS and screwed the lift pump OPS into the other T port fitting. When I changed my engine I moved the lift pump OPS to it's own oil pressure port and...
I purchased the relay unit from Kennedy Diesel. It came with it's own oil pressure sender and wired in real easy. The unit will activate the lift pump for 30 sec after you turn on the key, then it switches to it's own oil pressure sender to power the pump. It also has a nice little button...
It was purchased from Peninsular, a long block p-400 will run about $7,000.00 +/- a little. My total invoice was more since I added injectors, dual thermostat, HO water pump, modification of the pan, and new exhaust manifolds. The modification of the oil pan was about $300.00 and worth every...
Here are two picts of my P-400 on the pallet before install. I had Peninsular modify the cast aluminum oil pan for a 4X4 install. They told me they have a jig setup to cut the pan and re-weld it together. Sorry these are the only two picts I have of the motor showing anything of the oil pan.
I had the same problem, low voltage readout on the dash gauge. Checking the volts at the alternator netted me 13 volts and change. Batteries tested high 12 volts. The voltage seemed to get worse with long runs down the highway after the engine bay heated up.
As mentioned above I cleaned...
Yes AC/DC parallel has the same characteristics. If you use two block heaters in series the voltage would work out but the amp draw would be the amp draws of the block heaters added together. In other words the amperage required could overload your source/breaker/power cord. The best solution...
I am looking for a compressor hose assembly for my 95 burb with rear air. The part has been discontinued :(. This is the hose that collects the freon return from the rear coil and receiver dryer, it also delivers the high pressure freon to the front coil.
Any leads on where to find...
It is a long block with altered oil pan, valve covers, and metric bolts for the bell housing. I kept the stock compression ratio, Peninsular will happily drop the compression ratio to 18:1 for a fee. We will use my current injector pump, it is only 3 months or so old.
I also had them put in...
My mechanic is in the process of putting one in my burb right now. :hihi:
Some things to know, you will need to change the oil pan if you are installing in a 4X4. I purchased the motor from Peninsular and they modified the oil pan to fit. The bell housing bolts will need to be changed out...
My first impression is WOW!
I put the ATT and Heath tune on this morning and did the season thing found in the instructions. Then just a little while ago I went out to have some fun. Fun it was, my burb is a K1500 with 3.42 gears and a whipped motor. My goal is fuel economy.
First off...
I know you probably have already checked but how is the air filter or is there any restriction in air supply? You have 4 in exhaust, is the down pipe the same? Are you leaking exhaust on the crossover donuts or the crossover itself? Can you spin the turbo by hand?
Before swapping turbos I...
what kind of water do these systems take? At work, we do at times hook up a sprinkler under the roof top air conditioner condenser units when it gets hot out to help them shed heat. It works but our water is loaded with minerals and clogs up the coils fast. It takes some serious work to clean...
Thanks for the replies! Since I do not tow I think I will go with 20 to 1 compression. It is a little lower than factory which should relieve some lower end stress while maintaining a good cold start.
With an ATT turbo I am guessing that I would not see high boost numbers since I will not...
I am about to pull the trigger on a new engine for my burb. It is a 95 K1500 GMC. I have just rebuilt the front end, replaced the IP, new tires, new shocks, new breaks, high idle mod, glow plug override, and a racor fuel filter/heater.
My plan all along was to use the original engine as...
I purchased RaceDay's glow plug harness off ebay just a couple of weeks back, they are very high quality and an improvement over factory. I could not have made a "one off" glow plug harness of this quality for less money, especially if you factor in the time to make it and source parts...
