Somehow I missed the diagram and pictures with last post. Just never mind. I'm still not sure exactly how this is plumbed... On the diagram, where the two blue lines cross, I suspect this is really made up with two tee's right? One tee you added, the other original for splitting to rear...
Cool, I'm curious to see this in pictures too!!
Just thinking... wouldn't a ball valve with 90 degree travel be an advantage over the valve shown? Quicker to open/close, but also give a quick visual that valves are in correct operating positions.
I suspect we'll have to be very carefull...
I guess those would have been some important details, eh?
Starting at $10k or best offer.
K = 4x4
Yes, Automatic Tranny!!
Also, his remote fsd failed, so I suspect its running on the stock pump mounted driver.
My nephew is looking to sell his '99 K3500 Crew Cab Dually Long Box, 129k miles, 3.73 gears (yes that is correct!), solid white, dark blue cloth split bench, electric door locks & windows, cd player, new motor at 30k as po hit pheasant and dumped oil out cooler, he rolled new rod/main bearings...
I found a few sources...

I know, wikipedia might be a bit weak, eh?
All in fun, let's see your cards!!
Hmmm? Doc, that just wouldn't follow suit with VW's SDI (suction direct injected). Certainly the naturally aspirated engine wasn't intercooled? And here I am without a Jetta in my garage. I am almost certain I read that in one of the manuals with either my '98 or the '02 I used to have...
Removing the three capscrews mounting the vacuum pump was kindof a test. Luckily, I had my main mechanic on the job, he has a hoist. Two you could reach from the top, but one I think you would have to get from the bottom? I'd say he did it in less than 1/2 hour. I'm sure, if the customer...
I used to have an Allis-Chalmers 920 Diesel garden tractor. It had a 20 Hp Lambardini air-cooled Diesel engine. I believe same engine used a great deal in refridgerated straight trucks? At any rate, it had a button you pushed, it burned fuel into the intake manifold. This thing really...
The new engine I received from Peninsular in December of '08 had the smashed tube as well. I just assumed that was some marine thing.
Don't you think that smashed tube would plug up pretty easily with debris and defeat the intended purpose?
Notice how that fella is carefully metering the ether in that video. He is a seasoned ether starter, don't you think?
I suspect the one thing most everyone in the whole ether debate "can agree upon" is that one must not mix ether and glow plugs (or grid heaters).
As far as damaging the...
I suspect you may be correct with respect to "IF you don't over do it". The problem is, how to accurately measure and or administer a sufficiently small amount. Perhaps even more difficult, instructing someone in the art of not over doing it? Spray, crank speed, temperature, engine...
Wow! I've done about as much digging as one could stand. I didn't know you could get a truck without a/c!
It appears that the '96-'00 rigs without a/c use an idler mount in place of the drivers side a/c compressor. This may be reason for some of the belt length discrepancy, a/c versus no...
For what it is worth... you could splash debris past while changing the filter. One thing I always do when changing filter is take out the vacumm tank and suck all the fuel out of the fuel manager before installing a new filter. Remove the pump relay, hot wire from battery, to use the pump...
Cool!! I'm in the ball park now. The '95 is a running rig, it's getting the ATT and some other tweeks this weekend. The '96 I speak of, is in many pieces, it is a Suburban project, long story, '96 Diesel donor, '99 1500 Suburban "patient". At any rate, the donor engine brackets did not...
I guess Green Machine could confirm that, but I agree that it looks funny in that the dual alt '96 is shorter than a single alt '95?
I have the Diesel Page Volume II, and the article states the factory dual alt with the vac pump belt length is 120.3". So, I expected something less than that...
