    Replacement turbo

A-Team Turbo and Kennedy Chip Fuel Economy Test Here are my results. I believe this to be statistically significant. But, perhaps very conservative of actual improvement because... 1. I've been driving it like a stolen rental since the exhaust went in (gm turbo is way louder than A-Team...

    Is it worth it?

Yikes! I couldn't do that green color, unless it was strictly a work beater? I stumbled on this add. It's a 97 extended cab, long box 3/4ton... but at $8500 it would be a much better buy just looking at the pictures. Of course, I like black. Not real keen on red cloth seats, but that...

    Replacement turbo

I believe what slim is talking about is the marriage of art and science. I recall a really good article to that topic in an Open Wheel magazine I read several years ago. Basically, the math and science gets you on the target, but the tinkering testing and trial & error get you to the bulls...

    Ahhhh Crap

I put in a Kennedy reman, which had new castings, about 90k miles ago. It felt really weird putting a $5k engine in a $5k pickup at the time. But, after the years pass and the miles click by, it seems alright. Now if you do a new motor, and some jackbutt takes a fender to you the next day...

need turbo the manifold flange gasket

The oriniginal didn't have a gasket, so I didn't treat my ATT to anything special like a gasket. But, I wouldn't be afraid of using a little anti-seize across the mounting face. Take a look at the surface condition and flatness, if it makes you nervous, you might be ok with a gasket. I'm of...

    Replacement turbo

I haven't tried either of these, but I am very curious... http://www.r2cperformance.com/index.html http://www.amsoil.com/products/ea_filters/EaA.aspx

    ATT Heat Shield...?

X2!! I'm sure you could easily come up with a pattern to fit the ATT. You could fit it better than the DEI as you can see this is for a generic T4. Also, you could make the outlet elbow wrap a blanket instead of a wrap. Make it long enough to go down over the down pipe a little ways? Come...

    ATT Heat Shield...?

Yes, the wrap and blankets were installed after the A-Team was in and running. Not too difficult. Must confess, my best mechanic actually installed. He has one of those elevated creepers. Not fair!! I do need to add some photos to show where the wrap is around the turbo exhaust inlet...

    ATT Heat Shield...?

Thanks! To early to tell if it makes any difference I s'pose? It sure makes one feel better about it though.

    The optimiser I didn't know I had

I would tend to believe that the computer controller may give better mileage than a TM, however I don't have any data to support that. I do have some data to support that there is significant mileage improvement by removing the vacumm pump, adding an A-Team Turbo and a Kennedy Diesel fuel...

    ATT Heat Shield...?

All right ladies and gentlemen... here is the Design Engineering Inc. T4 Turbo Blanket & Wrap Kit... installed on our very own A-Team Turbo. Check it out... http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/album.php?albumid=623

    The optimiser I didn't know I had

Hmmm? That sounds like you are going into business!? Are you taking any orders? LOL Looks great!! Simply a piece of art! Art that we can appreciate!

    ATT Heat Shield...?

It looks like mutuva wrapped after installation. Or perhaps installed to get the turbo outlet elbow orientation dialed in, then removed to wrap. You can clearly see from his photos that the silver turbo wrap covers the elbow wrap. I guess one could wrap the elbow, set it on the turbo...

    ATT Heat Shield...?

Hey Matt, Check out matuva's photo albumn... http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/album.php?albumid=351 This is the best example I've seen of a "stitched" installation. Clearly one could install this for a lesser purchase price compared to the DEI Titanium T4. But I'll bet there is a...

    Vin S solenoid testing procedure?

Crankme69... you are probably correct in that most get rid of egr. But it is also very likely most have the 3/4 ton rigs that don't have egr at all. With egr you have 3 times the problems because you have the egr dump solenoid too, right? I'm with these guys in leaning toward replacing...

    ATT Heat Shield...?

The theory is that you keep the heat in for faster response and better fuel economy. I chose to buy the DEI Titanium T4 blanket. I didn't wanna mess around sewing on a square piece. I'll let you know how it fits when I get it installed. Warning... they will get into your pocket. But, I...

    eaton m112 supercharger

VW does just this, they call it "Twincharging". With a direct injected gas engine, the results are impressive. I thought the supercharger uncoupled, but I don't see that now. Perhaps, as the turbo comes up to speed, the supercharger just "free wheels"...

    ATT Videos

Forgot to mention... I am sure the programming plays a big part in all of this. I ordered a KD chip for this rig but installed the turbo and chip all at once, so I don't have a chip comparison seperate from the ATT. Oh well. I ordered the chip from KD with my preference for fuel economy...

    ATT Videos

The 3-1/2" pipe goes thru the stock, but gutted cat, and the pipe has all the cross drilled holes per KD instructions. I am impressed that I have no smoke. Just a very slight puff when you stump on it from a stoplight. I'm not so sure it is any different from stock, never paid so much...

    ATT Videos

I installed the KD exhaust on the stock gm turbo. Then added the ATT 13 months later. I've been running the ATT for a couple weeks. Note that I have a straight thru muffler and a noise attenuating cat. I don't believe the ATT is louder than the gm turbo with same exhaust arrangement. The...
