I used to get smoke like that but it was due to a leak on the drivers side donut gasket. I get a little smoke now, but nowhere near that. I am pretty close to sea level.
That's what I did with mine. I was a little apprehensive about it but never had any issues and works great. Like others say, as long as the engine is running, the exhaust will blow things out and back at you. I also did it on a cold engine as there is drill and tap and didn't want any burns. I...
what about this sending unit from "burning oil"http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?27370-Brand-new-release-of-our-METRUM-ROD-FSU-!!!!!!!!!!!!&highlight=fuel+sending
Might want to look at one of these http://www.ebay.ca/itm/4L80E-TRANSMISSION-95-99-CHEVY-1-2500-6-5L-DIESEL-R-4WD-/260508918936?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ca78aa498 and replace it. You could take the one you got into a shop and spend a similar amount of money diagnosing and...
I was 17 and bought a 69 Datsun pickup. It had a 283 with 2 speed power glide tranny. Every little bump would chirp the tires when stomping on the gas.
Could also be that if the truck sits, the batteries discharge slightly so the initial higher voltage would be making up for that till the batteries charge is brought up. Mine does the same thing.
You too, Me as well. In my younger days I would have an automatic, then a standard then go automatic then standard and so on. wasn't till I hit 34 that I decided automatic from now on. If I wanna play with the gears, I ride my motorcycle.
I did my mileage calculations and am at 9.01 miles per US gallon and that was towing about 8,000 pounds of trailer, supplies and everything else over a distance of 1018 kms. Works out to be 11.20 miles per Canadian gallon. Does that sound reasonable. I never really ever kept track of mileage...
OMG, I would not use one of those things on any engine. Have you ever seen a dirty air filter. sticks, twigs, bees, dirt and crud. While that screen may stop most large items from being sucked into the turbo it won't do much for dust, dirt or sand. On second thought, I would use that strainer...
I don't know what your price of diesel is but here in the suburbs of Vancouver BC. it is 5.60 per US gallon. I live 7 miles from Washington state and can see the Pacific ocean from by back deck so fill up there for 4.39 US gallon. They complain here about losing revenue from Gas taxes. Gee ya...
Me too. Just the part about "I just read the entire thread." As for the technical know how to take on such a project. Well I could teach you to bake if you wanna move up here and teach me to swap in a dmax. And just because I am in BC it's not bake as in BC bud bake. I am a baker who enjoys...
