What leaks on them is all the o-rings for the fuel heater and water in fuel sensor and a few other places. Very difficult to get replacement parts. Changing the filter is always a big fuel spill also.
The water drain line runs up to a tee handled valve on the thermostat housing. A hose runs from the valve to drain out below the front of the engine.
The plastic large headed screw with the tiny hose nipple is the bleeder for the filter.
I can get some pics tomorrow of just the FFM and some...
The 3/8" hose is the one going into the square filter. The water drain and line to the IP are 1/4". The return line is 5/16". There is no return coming out of the FFM.
The 6.2 trucks didn't have nostrils in the bumper[it wouldn't hurt to have them though]. My 91 made it to 310,000 miles and still ran great. The questionable 700r4 tranny went out again and the frame was rusted out is why I junked it. It did get as high as 28 mpg on a long highway run. It got...
I've got a Standard CPS in my 95 ld. I'm not shure if it's the same number as yours. It works fine. That doesn't mean your's is good though. I was hesitant to buy anything other than GM or AC Delco for that part. I bought it on a close out deal on rockauto for $20.
Just as a side note, I've removed the a/c condenser from 2 of my trucks. They can't hardly get up to operating temp even with old fan clutches. It made a huge difference getting them out of the air flow.
I've never heard of a repair sleeve for the surface the bearing goes on, only for the oil seal. Have you used or seen these before?
On a semi-floating car axle I've used a axle- saver bearing that rides on a different spot of the axle. It came from NAPA.
HO pumps have "HO" cast in the face. I've bought a few Gates HO water pumps from Rockauto. ! came damaged from their crappy packaging. MIKEK3500 still had his for sale a couple days ago.
If it was n/a it may have the squirters blocked. As with any 6.5 block, check for cracks in the main webs around head bolts ,rear cylinder walls and between the valves on the heads. Wash those areas with carb cleaner and wipe with paper towels. The cracks,if any, will weep black diesel oil.
I wouldn't buy anything from SS diesel. His glow plugs don't work any better and will not last even 1 year. All the items you have listed from there can be bought at NAPA. I'd put in 2 frost plug heaters. One on each side of the block. Very fast warm up or a spare if one craps out. You will need...
I would think the part numbers are am general/gep numbers.
I'll have to take one of mine apart to see how the thing works and pulley replacement. I should just need the control valve and temp sensor.
What is the timing in time set? Desired and actual is all set by the tune in the chip. If base timing is wrong it won't be able to go to full advance or full retard. That's why it has to be close to +3.5 in time set. Setting tdco without having time set right is useless.
