    Fuel gauge replacement?

Did you clean the ground on the frame rail driver's side rear? That should be the ground for the sender. The ones I've had do that, it is the sender ground that is bad.The ground straps to the frame, under the heater-A/C box could do it also. Yes, just the gauge unit can be replaced. One from...

    Snow plow truck?

You will need a very good working fan clutch. The plow blocks all the wind from the radiator. I had my 95 ld overheat when it was below zero.

Killing a 6.5 Truck For Parts

On to the fun stuff Since the shop was full of parts, I had to tag and stack them all on a pallet and take to the barn/parts storage. Got the floor swept up and ready for the next round. Got a couple pics of the cleaner chassis. Stll plenty of dirt and grime but much better:agreed: Got...

Uneven rear end, how to fix?

Correct. What I'm saying is that if the main leaf[the one that bolts to the frame] is broken at the axle ,that it still will support the frame in front of the axle but not behind it. Maybe I'm totally wrong. Maybe the truck was crashed in the rear and the frame is bent. Adjust the bumper to...

Uneven rear end, how to fix?

There is no bushings between the box and frame. Only the cab and core support have bushings. The box is solid to the frame with 8 bolts. A broken main leaf spring behind center of the axle will allow the frame to sag that much. Measuring height at the axle will still be good.

    Died on the road

There was a issuie with the electronic 6.5s when they were new that a sudden tap to the pedal would kill the engine. Most were fixed under warrenty but it may have been one of those only if it does it things. It does sound like a fuel solenoid problem. If you get the code off the chip in the ECM...

Randomly spins over too slow to start.

Get new 2-0 battery cables[like the ones raceday mechanic makes]. You won't believe how fast they turn over with big cables. If it does end up being the starter, at least you will have good cables. A while back, Handcannon replaced his and did a thread with a autopsy on the old cables. They were...

    IP failure? Very hard starting

35 and 36 are generic codes. They can be set by most any other code. With as many codes as you saw before, I'd be thinking ECM. That many sensors don't go bad at the same time. Check for 5 volt reference signal at all sensors. The ECM has 2 reference signal outputs. The ECM also has 2 power...

    When it rains it pours....

I'd try the tranny electronics kit first before going for a rebuild. If it doesn't help that much should be knocked off the rebuild price. I did a thread in the tranny section on the install of the kit.

    Slop in the gear box?

Are you positive the slop is in the box and not the pitman arm? I've bought several that the pitman arm was loose on the output shaft of the steering box. A worn idler arm will make the steering feel loose also. Most times it isn't in the box.

Uneven rear end, how to fix?

Broken leaf springs.Check the sides of the leafs for cracks right above the axle. There is no real "band aid". The broken leaf or leaves need to be replaced. Messing with the torsion bars will only throw it out of alignment further. Figure on a new centering bolt and new u-bolts.

    IP failure? Very hard starting

How old ls all the rubber fuel line? Do you positively have power to all the glow plugs? Have you tried starting with the fuel cap loose? Will it pass the 2000 rpm test? Is you lift pump working?

Killing a 6.5 Truck For Parts

I cut it mostly with a razor knife. The rest was with a handle that I have the uses sawzall blades. I bought some of the braided piano wire. Didn't work, even after cutting with the razor knife. This was the closest I've gotten to getting one out unbroken. If I would have had help , it wouldn't...

Windshield flop, Interior stripped, and cab removed :(:( I was soooooooo close to having the windshield out. 2 very little strands of glue to trim and it cracked in 2 places:eek::mad2::shiiiiiite: Maybe I will succeed next time:nonod: I got the rest of the cab stripped of what I'm...

    Oil leak in filter area?

The oil cooler lines are right above the filter. Very good chance the great GM quick couplings or crap lines are leaking. The GM oil cooler lines are a ticking time bomb. If they blow apart, you can't get the engine shut off quick enough to stop big damage . You should have them on the top of...

Need more space in the nose. Kodiak/Topkick parts maybe?

 I keep looking at this mostly for the door handles but always wonder how hard it would be to make the hood fit http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/pts/2564983156.html He would have to be one of those who won't post the price. Been on CL for 2 months or more.

The door panels on this one are faded but not broke. My 95 2500Ld has the Cheyenne interior. it has no door pockets. I hate it.

    SS diesel supply marine injectors?

I bought a original engine out of a 84[it wasn't red] and it had coarse threads. The nozzles are the same for fine and coarse thread long body.

Killing a 6.5 Truck For Parts

The junkyards do it all the time. I think it's mostly in having the right tool and knowing how to use it. Some of the removal tools are over $600. I've gotten very close on other attempts.
