New Scorpion = NO more Handshaker.....

while any pickup has its setbacks somewhere in the design, i don't think anyone can argue that frame technology, drivetrain technology, and creature comforts are lightyears ahead of what they were even 10 years ago, let alone 20 years ago.

New Scorpion = NO more Handshaker.....

Been waiting on the new gen ram hd to come out for quite a while. Now that they're here, I have some test driving to do.

New Scorpion = NO more Handshaker.....

Well, there was a time that GM truck frames would bend if you put anything larger than a cinder block in the bed and chew up idler arms every few thousand miles. The last generation dodge are leaps and bounds ahead of the previous generations. The new generation is probably a step beyond GM and...

New Scorpion = NO more Handshaker.....

That scorpion is STUPID complicated. It shows why ford has been the inferior american brand for decades. They're like the american equivilant of a german car. They use 5 parts to do the job 1 part could ( and should ) do. This is exactly the reason they have no business engineering their own...

    Getting my CUCV today!

1009 blazers have 10 bolts front and rear . 1008 trucks have d60/14bff axles and all CUCVs that i am aware of have thm400 transmissions.

    Getting my CUCV today!

If its auto, its a THM400. A stick would be an SM465. Those are the only trans options for c/k30s. If the tranny isn't original, its anyone's guess.

Big Rigs. What do you prefer

Navi Lonestars = FUGLY My choice would be a volvo VT800 with a 16L 600hp engine and an eaton fuller trans.

Probably still has dual Alts because the civi 6.2 doesn't have an alt on the drivers side.

What would you still consider a 6.5?

Nope, Think 6.5 Bottom end with Dmax top end, Fuel system, Probably a modded 6.5 timing cover to drive a cp3. I might be a little bit off but not much. We were talking about this the other day.

    smokes like a freight train

3 = too small. >6 = too big for pickups imho Never saw a pickup truck with larger than 6 inch stacks that didn't look stupid as hell.

    6.2 IP TPS switch!

And what were you doing to get it that hot?
  15. R

    6.2 IP TPS switch!

It's just cheaper and preferable for me to run the sm465. I doubt i'm gonna break that thing or the 205 case even with the 6.2 turbo w/ hot pump and some other goodies. See my previous post for an edit in the spirit of accuracy.

Great post as usual Missy. Thanks.

Help! Just droped freeze plug in block

Drivers side bank, center freeze plug bore. I guess it doesn't matter which direction the curve of the heating element faces so long as it doesn't interfere with mounting or sealing.

    High Idle

You can manually power the high idle solenoid. It works like a ratchet. You need to turn the switch on and pump the throttle and it will hold the throttle open a bit further than usual. It is not as easy as you think, however, because the Cold start advance solenoid shares the circuit with the...

    Splayed Mains......

Any 6.2/6.5 specialist that i have ever researched or talked to say to stay away from splayed mains. Drilling extra holes in webs already prone to cracking can't improve block strength IMO. The best option for increasing the strength of the botom end is a Bedplate. A stud Girdle would be a...
