    1999 GMC K3500 - Help!

Another possibility for the wires is to crounge a salvage yard for a bulkhead fitting and fuse block out of a vehicle with a small electrical system and make the necessary hole to instal it where most convenent. Ususlly the older models have fewer systems to deal with. You can purchase these...

    Carnage anyone?

Holy Crap!!! And I felt bad when I blew 2 head gaskets and cracked almost every cylinder between the valves on mine. Was the head gasket in the same location as the fried piston? Cant wait to see the turbo!!!:drama:

    TroubleGuessing

Yep got a nice 9 inch long spin on filter in front of it! I just got back from Thanksgiving back in the midwest and the truck ran perfect the whole way. :coal: even blew black smoke on a Prius a couple of times!!! On the long drive back I was constantly scaning the dash for a place...

    TroubleGuessing

If it turns out to be the lift pump I recommend using a Walbro FRB-5 pump instead of a stock replacment. I replaced mine with a stock replacment and it lasted approximately 30,000 miles and the tuck never ran correctly with it. I even rewired it direct so I knew it was running. Since I replaced...

    S to F

You can simply bolt your EGR on top of your F-plenum and not throw any codes. Also be sure to use the F-code intake gaskets with the built in block off plates. I used them on mine with an F plenum and S lower manifold and have no codes and the truck runs fine.

    Need help fellow 6.5ers

The relay isn't bad if it's clicking and the brake light is coming on. the problem is that you had no power to the switch. When you ran the jumper wire you bypassed the factory hot wire and made it work. Check the connection on the backside of the fuse block for the wire you bypassed.

Best way to lift my truck?

A jack and two jack stands!!! Just kidding...any of the "name brand kits" are good choices as they are designed for the extreme loads both lateral and compression of a truck under motion. I wouldn't take a chance with sront suspension parts because if they break it doesn't matter where you sit...

Bad Idle on my 6.5, Please Help

I would double check all my fuel lines between the tank and IP. Any slight leak will cause the IP to draw air and cause a miss. Mytruck had a miss under slight load and occasionally while running down the highway. It would also stall and surged once. It would run ok at a high idle (900-1100...

    New Mods

Well I finally got the time to fix/mod my truck. Thanks Turbine Doc for the advice and part njumbers for the lift pump/prefilter setup. I can say it works great. I did the TCC lockup mod. thanks Aces for the info on the C 11 plug. I will get some pics of my setup and a pic of my switch panel...

Somebody talk me out of this please!!!!!

:iagree: Not to mention the worn out front end components. the fact that the four wheel drive engages with little effort means the four wheel drive has been used a lot. You could probably engage low range on the fly! Nice job detailing, as the Mythbusters proved you can polish a t*#d.:D. I'd...

    Missing Rubber bushing

That's the pitman arm and there is no bushing there. You only need to replace it if there is wear on the ball socket where it attaches to the center link. These trucks are known for wearing out idler arms (simillar looking item on other side of center link). My opinion after spending a few years...

    2 door tahoe/Yukon/Blazer 6.5

Mines a 94 and I get the same questions at the pump all the time. The most consistant comment is "I bet that wasn't easy to find!" I love mine and have no intention of getting rid of it. I get 16 around town and I will know shortly what it will get on extended highway running without a trailer.

    TCC lock mod

Yeah already planned on useing the 2 position switch and will probably try this for the commute to work where the speeds are 45 mph so it should help a little there but I really can't complain about 16 mpg in city driving out of a fullsize suv with 234000 on it. I will also be doing Turbine...

    TCC lock mod

Thanks, I don't do a lot of towing with my rig and I'm thinking this might help a lil with downhill compression braking and over all MPG on road trips. I post result and impressions when its done and has some miles on it.

Gonna pull, teardown 6.5 from the 92

It might be helpful to others if you took some mesurments (ie: cylinder wear, head cracks, gasket problems) and some pics if you could. Might help others that aren't sure what is what. good luck with the rebuild.

    TCC lock mod

Does anyone know if the TCC wire runs to the ecm under the glove box and if so which pin is it so I can route my wires tomorrow while I have the headliner out for repair. A diagram or very clear instructions would also be helpful. thanks in advance guys

Does anyone have the Part Number for a vented/locking fuel cap? I need to replace mine and might as well get a locking one to boot. Thanks

    Try LMC for some things.

    why so many 6.5's

Maybe just the fact that we know what the holes in the bumper are for should qualify someone for membership. After all the sport models of the same year trucks used the same front bumper although body colored and had fog lights mounted in them.
