If it's just a speedi-sleeve that you need I found this a long time ago on Pirate 4x4. They have a bunch of good articles. http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/SpeediSleeve/index.html
So I don't think that I'm so interested in that particular truck as to the options that it has and what they are asking for it, basically that is what I'll be looking for. I noticed that here in New England that the prices seem to be a bit lower than where this truck is. I would still have to...
So would that truck that I posted for what it is be about the right price with maybe a little wiggle room, lets say in the ball park? I know the 6.5 is expensive but I'm a mechanic by trade so I do all the work myself, lucky me.
Hi All,
I might be in the market for a new rig and from what I gather the 06-07 models are what I should be looking for. I think that I read somewhere maybe here that the LBZ is a really good engine and I think that if I sell a couple of the vehicles that I have now they might be in my price...
Well if you do two piece 45's then you would have to run some sort of coupler and four clamps. One piece would only be two clamps and look much cleaneer. But then again I kind of like the two hump hose setup and reusing the piece of intake that you cut off, that's just me though.
So it's decided then.........an ATT it will be. As soon as the check book allows which it never seems to. I will also use two hump hoses with the four t-bolt clamps along with the cut out length of intake. Maybe Slim will have updated this setup by the time I decide to purchase. So until then...
I understand the difference between the two turbos that I am talking about as where the GM likes the lower rpm range (spools quicker) as to where the ATT is more for the mid to upper rpm range, please correct me if I'm wrong, but that is how I'm understanding them. As far as what everyone calls...
I'm in Springfield, MA and I work in Middletown, CT. I know that there is a bunch of guys on this site from CT so I'm allways driving RT 91, really anywhere in CT-Western MA is close. Heck even some parts of NY state are pretty close to me.
A GM6 is for a rear mounted application for vans and such. A GM5 is The same as a GM8 except for the way that the linkage is. I have a GM5 on my truck now and the only direct replacement for it is a GM8. I believe that a GM6 is also the same as a GM8 except for the way it is mounted.
I am taking my milage from my GPS as my speedometer is off, for example when on the highway speedo reads 64mph and the GPS reads 70mph. By the way, how do I adjust that on an OBDII truck?
As far as the GM5 to ATT I think you hit the nail on the head and that is why I am asking to ATT or...
I did a little reasearch on some past threads and I see that making an exhaust would not be to difficult but what about where the inlet size and clearence to the battery? I also noticed that a lot of people think you should use intercooler and as far as boost goes what should I be running for...
Well I have a decent welder, metal bandsaw, drill press and a South Bend lathe so I'm not so bad at fabricating although not the best but not bad. I'll have to see whats involved for that type of swap. I can't tie up the truck for more than a day as this is my daily driver now as I don't have...
That mpg is combined highway and city still I do most of my driving on the highway. I think putting on the bigger mud terrains killed some of my mpg although they are taller than what was on there, stock were 30" and these are 32" so I am using less rpm's to go the same speed, maybe it's just a...
I did not remember the tune that I have but you just jogged my memory, it is a Max-E-Torque tune and the truck runs great with it but now with the turbo on it's way out it's running like a dog. I had wanted to take my time with this and do it over the summer or before winter as it also needs...
That is the question that I have. I'm in the need for a new turbo as the one I have now is on the verge of failing, it's developing quite a bit of play in the shaft and I noticed recently that the waste gate is starting to fail/stick. I'll try to give as much info as I have. First let me tell...
Deja vu, just last night I was looking for a tech 2. All my vehicles are GM OBD2 so ifigure that it would be a good investment. from what I gather you should stay away from the copycat ones. They seem to be much cheaper but you get what you pay for.
So I may have misrepresented the nozzles that I have pics of. I believe that I called the Medalion nozzles to be the German made ones and I don't think that they are. I'm not real sure where they are made so if someone can shed some light on this it would really help. Either way the Medalions...
