Well im on to the little things now.
My factory water temp gauge only shows a few ticks over 100* at normal operating temp and a tick or 2 higher when towing a 7k# trailer in the summer. I dont have A/C.
Is that normal temp? by looking at the gauge it looks like 110-130* range.
The temp...
Would this replace the electric solenoids and other electronic parts in the trans? Anyone have this kit? Thoughts?

Well today was a good day.
I GOT THE SPEEDOMETER WORKING!
Thats one of the things I have been most worried about. It turns out the IGN wire that goes into the Vehicle Speed Sensor Buffer (That little white box in the glove box area) Wasnt working. I put it to 12+ and wham, the speedo works...
OK, well I broke down and purchased a one year subscription of alldata online for the truck. Its only for my 93 but if any of you need anything, let me know!
I bought a truck that had the engine and trans rebuilt.
Problem is, the speedometer does not work as well as a few other issues. I feel that its a wiring issue because of the hack job that made thier own harness. I did put in a new VSS on the 4WD tailshaft on the transfercase.
The main...
Ok, the delay to the truck turning off is NOT the solenoid on the IP. Its a delay somewhere else, I probably wont mess with it, well see how deep I get into the dash since its getting close to the next thing on the list.
I was going to advance the timing some today but ran into an issue, how...
Ok just makin' sure,LOL.
It still runs for a few secs after the IGN is off and I did not monitor the voltage as I shut the engine off but I Did make sure it did not have voltage while off and voltage while on and it did.
I unplugged the pink wire from the solenoid while the engine was...
Well mine starts awesome and it was the OPS not working. Check to make sure your LP is running, I wired mine to turn on with the GPs, that way it primes the engine and then starts right up. It runs MUCH MUCH better now.
The fuel screw is under the intake though right? Its on the IP but I have to take off the metal intake that goes to the turbo right?
I will try to advance the timing then. Can I do this with the engine running? LOL Im sure that sounds stupid but just making sure that the engine should be off.
Ok, did some more testing with the LP.
The factory purple/white LP turn on wire does power the LP when cranking. But instead of hooking up the wire back to normal, I chose to have the LP power up when the GPs are powered up. But before I did that, I disconnected the the power from the IGN to...
My OPS was bad, I was going to take it apart to show what it looks like. I ended up breaking it which made removal easier but I wasnt able to do what I was hoping to with it.
Anyway, Here is the picture-
Ok excellent! I will check the wires tomorrow and everything else there. I kinda hope the OPS is bad since that will be easier to replace than tracing down a wiring issue
OK another question, so when the OPS takes over control of the LP, does it control it through the relay on the firewall? Or is it wired directly to the LP?
So if the LP stops when I remove the IGN wire that would mean the OPS IS bad then? I will have to try that tomorrow.
the IGN was kinda temporary anyway. I just wanted to drive it around the block and start it a few times to see how much different it operates. I would return the wiring back to...
really so the LP is only supposed to be on while cranking? Is it ok to run with IGN? Thats probably why like you said, I thought it wasnt working, hard to crank and test the voltage at the same time. What controls the LP then? or is it simply wired to the starter wire? Or did I misunderstand you...
The only reason I am not junking this truck is because its pretty unique and there is something aboutit I like. It sounds different, its low on power but gets the job done and I like the body style. Plus its alot cheaper to fix than buying a new or used truck that will break down too.
