    Loss of power and sputtering

I am running the stock vacuum wastegate currently... I placed a $3500 order at Heaths about 3 weeks ago so hopefully they can get everything in and at my door in a month or so... (including TM). At 80mph it was reading about 4psi but i was bucking a heavy wind so it was working pretty hard...

    Loss of power and sputtering

Definitely not a PMD issue... I had PMD issues in October and i have Heaths remote PMD kit installed... Besides if it was the PMD it wouldnt kill the cruise... it would kill the truck (which it didnt just went into limp mode)... if anything it would be an ECM issue... Correct me if im wrong...

It could be that too, maybe my truck doesnt like the UFA fuel that we're running at work in Alberta... To get at that sock do you just pull the box off and peal it out of the top of the tank like the gas jobs and their fuel pumps?

This is my first fuel filter that i've put into it so... stupid question... how do you open the drain on the filter manager? And i didnt see any part of gasket left behind and the filter seemed to sit right down flush like it should have

I should have known that about the LP pumping not constantly via ignition... i've only read it about 5 times on here already. I havent checked the pressure yet... I'll have to get a gauge and set it all up and check that for sure (clearly the most important check that i havent done yet)...

    Loss of power and sputtering

It's gotten progressivly worse... esspecially today... started sputtering at road speed so i went to the tap at the front of the engine just to see how well the lift pump is dumping fluid... I got my brother to flip the key and it would only pump diesel out while in the glow plug cycle then...

Aux fuel tank + fuel gauge

Thanks man. Looks good... and i prefer the return line going back to the aux tank just in case the aux tank allegidly could have dyed and regular tank have clear.

    Loss of power and sputtering

Thanks a lot for moving this, I'm sorry for putting it up in the wrong category. And I think you guys are right about the lift pump... i read the diagnostic section and its exactly what its doing... Hopefully it can hang in there until Bill sends out all my parts (lift pump included).

Aux fuel tank + fuel gauge

Your set up is EXACTLY what i'm looking at doing... couple questions though: 1. Is your tank a custom build or factory purchase? 2. Where did you get the system to flip between tanks? Is it just out of ~75-87 Chev with dual tanks? 3. Do you have a gauge set up for your water tank too? 4...

Aux fuel tank + fuel gauge

I was going to put baffles in the tank anyway... and with that 6 port switch would i be hooking it up to my 98's gauge in the dash just on a switch between stock tank and aux tank? or pull the gauge out of the 1980's truck and use that inside the truck?

    Loss of power and sputtering

I talked to Bill today about my order and ran the codes past him and he figures when you see 251 and 370 together it usually means that the lift pump cant keep up to the injection pump. Good thing i have a lift pump on the way from Bill anyway... Thanks for the ideas guys... I'm going to clean...

Aux fuel tank + fuel gauge

I can see the ones you buy having it already set up with a gauge only thing is i would rather just build my own to my own spec... I want to build a fuel tank that would be low enough in my bed to fit a tonneau cover over and that would have another tank bolted to it for my water injection ...

Aux fuel tank + fuel gauge

I'd like to build a auxilary fuel tank but instead of transfering straight into the current tank... i thought about going straight to the lift pump... is that possible? If so... does anyone know where to get a gauge for an auxilary fuel tank?

    Loss of power and sputtering

I'm not sure what the fuel pressure was but on the subject of clogs... I changed the fuel filter that morning before i left... coincidence? The conglomeration of codes included: P0251 - Injector pump 1 rotor/cam P0370 - Timing reference high resolution P0402 - EGR flow Excessive P1191...

    Loss of power and sputtering

I was on my way out to the oil field in alberta for work (700km from home)... Had the cruise set to 130km/hr (~80mph) egts running around 800F.. and about km 500 the cruise kicked off and lost a pile of power and would start to sputter as it got up to around 3000rpm. I shut it off, and...

    Which water injection system?

That was my understanding too (straight water)... When i talked to a guy yesterday on the phone he claimed when they tow with one of his built trucks he uses: 1 Gallon water : 1 Gallon diesel (approximately), so he's spraying it pretty damn good.

    Which water injection system?

Touche. I'll agree with you, the 2H20 --> 2H2 + 02 --> 2H20 reaction is energy in = energy out, so really you are right that no matter what is going on whether that reaction occurs or not, its in equilibrium, and even if it somehow did contribute to a diesel fuel combustion reaction the gains...
