Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

Congratulations on that one. I tried to dumb the concept down to a level that everyone might be able to understand. All 3 of those, rock, sand, and water are incompressible fluids, but obviously you missed the point. Maybe listen to the little voice in your head that reads these threads: you...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

When talking these engines the volume is constant - its 6.5L or 395ci... No matter how much air you pump into it, the volume will never change. One thing to remember is that most people consider mass and weight the same thing, which they aren't, but they are closely related, and it makes...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

I know what youre saying. Bigger turbo equals higher attainable boost numbers which is correct if your engine can spin/ compress air with said turbo.... the gmx becomes a grenade where larger holsets are most efficient. Also theorerically you could compress air infinitely high... turbo...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

Also, I remember reading something about a 10 vs 12 blade compressor wheel on the HX-40ii? Which one was preferred/ should be requested? Thanks again

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

Of course it will, but not at the same psi, that's not an assumption, thats fact. There are other factors that need to be considered when there is a bigger compressor and inducer, and housing, and etc etc are used... its a domino effect. For example, you put larger sized tires on your car/truck...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

That is good news. Everything that Buddy stated is 100% correct, and i thank you. I've taken a couple of thermodynamics classes but we never assessed a turbo, just centrifugal pumps, which act the same as a turbo but don't factor in the effects of back pressure, or any strains on a system in...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

I definitely read your thread, Jorge, when you were trying this turbo. Its one of the main reasons im likely going tobinstall it, with all the positive feedback... except for some manufacturing flaws and maybe longevity issues, but im taking baby steps here when it comes to turbos... im sure...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

An intercooler should have nothing to do with boost numbers... or very little due to the increase in density of cooler air. Also the cfm at 15psi will be the same regardless of turbo granted the compressed air temperature is the same between the two. I also have almost every bolt on...

Hx-40wii safe boost on stock compression

Im sure the answer my question is hidden among the 30+ pages of posts on this turbo ... as a matter of fact i feel like i read it there at one time but... What boost can this turbo deliver on stock compression and stock head gaskets? I was sure i would be able to push it up past the 15psi...

    My Carputer

I'm interested in how you managed to mold your center console to have such smooth curves and even that curve/bump out on the passengers side of it. Looks very professional; I want to learn how to mold fiberglass like this.

    My Carputer

Awesome job; you're a fiberglass master. Those gauges look really good in that overhead console, I think that's where my fuel pressure and exhaust back pressure gauges are going to go.

    Please teach me on intercoolers

I'm excited to see the whole process; Not only were you able to keep your air conditioning, you made it look clean and function suprisingly better than I would have expected. Well done sir. Very well done.

    big claims for a 6.5

If you listen carfully he said 875 Newton-meters at the wheels which converts to about 645 Ft-lb... Does that sound like a more attainable number?

    Tahoe Motor Is Blown Up

What a bummer. The Tahoe tuning and project threads were the first two I'd check out daily when I log on here.

Hey man, I remember you waiting for a forged steel crank or SCAT crank on one of your more recent builds and was wondering where you purchased yours from? The reason I ask is that you're in Alberta and I'm in Saskatchewan so I'm fairly confident freight wont be quite as bad as getting...

    1999 GMC Transfer case Issues

I have a 1999 GM SLT half ton with the NP 246 transfercase.. It seems to work fine in 4x4 and shift in/out fine until you drive it up to highway speed (in 4x4) as shortly after i let off the gas and start to decelerate it gives me a 4wd service light and refuses to shift out of 4x4 until I turn...

    SS diesel supply marine injectors?

I assume you had the pump timed to -1.94 degrees and are you sure your glow plugs are ok? I was in the exact same situation, brand new injection pump and my truck started to smoke white on start up so i changed my glow plugs to a good set of bosch duraterms ... Turned out all 4 of them on the...

    Project 141 Build

HAHA... You really think that its winter 12 months out of the year north of the 49th parallel? HAHA Here in Canada, daytime running lights are law (at least for this generation and newer trucks) so he would have lights when he fired up the truck.

99 GM BCM change now starts and instantly dies

False alarm. I did a theft deterrent relearn and it runs like a charm again.... for those who might be having this same problem its easy to fix: 1. Bump the starter with the key but leave the key in the run position. 2. Wait 10-14 minutes until the security light goes out. 3. Turn the key off...
