Do these lower the rear height like the Velvet Rides used to? What's the cost? Please pm me if prices aren't allowed in threads. I need them desperately.
I run a set of each (firestone and airlift) btw 2 trucks. They both do the same thing, but I liked the fit and finish of the Firestones a little better. The heat shield mainly. It's quite a bit nicer on the Fstones. If I found a good deal on either, I'd buy either set.
I did once in a '90 350 gasser a couple of years ago. It had 160k and was poorly maintained before I got it. I figured it would free up sticky lifters, etc. Ran it in there for a few hundred miles before I changed the oil. Don't know if it made a difference, but I felt better after I did it...
Works great for small engines too. I couldn't tell you the last time I disassembled a carb on anything. A little seafoam and it cleans it right up. It's good for sticky gummed up lawn mowers, etc.
I was actually going to get the lower spacers like yours at first, but was too cheap for one, and actually read about a couple of situations where they twisted out on lifted trucks (big lifts and big spacers). I figured that doing it up top would give them a nice wide, strong base to rest on...
Thanks. The rims are Rozzi brand "Fuel's". I was on the hunt for Moto Metals and found these used. They look quite similar IMO. For the bags, I agree-hit up Nick at Norcal.
I think 18 is shooting a bit high. :o Highway miles, maybe, and being a 2wd up's the chances a little. Honestly, the 4.3 gassers rate about the exact same milage as the 5.7's do. Low teens. Seems they have to work harder to move the truck, so milage decreases in the meantime. The 5.3's are a...
I guess not a tractor per say, but here's my Case Maxi Trencher. 4cyl Mitsubishi diesel with a sweeeet home-made stack! This is how my irrigation lines get put in the ground. I mainly use the vibratory plow on the back to do the pipe pulling. Also has a pto in the front to do boring. Hard...
I'm down. I was going to try and get ahold of some of the INDP boys to ask the same thing!!
I was also thinking about an IN/IL one also, or all in one. There's some IL guys close to me too.
Here's mine. One overall, one of the rear spacers that I made for the bags, and a couple of the front shock assy's. Forgive the crappy appearance of the frame and underside up front. I still have to tidy it up from this past winter :o. That dang salt!!
Anyways, it's a Cognito 4/6 at 4.5"...
Ha, Bingo! Not that big of a deal, but figured now I had the chance to make more sense of the name!!
Nick, best of luck to you, and may this site prosper!
Thanks to all for welcoming me aboard!
I've always worked on my own stuff and always will. But................I've been getting lazy the last few years. I have great connections at the dealer and get most of my maintenance done there. I couldn't tell you the last time I paid for an oil change, rotations, fuel filters, etc. Larger...
In my 04, I didn't run ballast at all this season, although I wanted to-just never did it. Honestly, with lighter snows, I still run in 2wd often. Good tires make a BIG difference. Usually, I'll throw 4-500lbs in my trucks just because. I noticed that with my crew cabs, it really wasn't...
Hey guys. Just joined up here. Thanks to those that tipped me off!! Many of you will probably recognize me from the dp. My user name is the same, but I added the - in between. Still have to load up an album of pics. Figured I'd also change up my avatar this go round to my truck instead of...
