Aw, dont ya know Choppers are SOOOooo 2005? The current trend is hot-rod baggers.
J\K. But I do find it amazing how many full blown custom choppers there are on Craigslist for around $10 to $15 grand. I think too many guys watched American Chopper and thought "HEY! I CAN BUILD THOSE AND MAKE...
Dave,
Sweet ride! I think I will make the trip down to deals gap sometimes this year, we have GOT to hook up. Where did you buy from Smokey Mountain HD?
Also, look into a Klock Werks Flare windsheild. I got one on my Street Glide, and it works great, and looks better.
This is the one...
Just for the record. If not legally required to, I wont be wearing one. Yes, I know all the arguments for wearing one, but I also know that helmet use is only a factor in 14% of motorcycle accidents. There are nearly as many helmeted riders dying as there are helmetless, and many of the...
the senate yesterday passed a bill with a provsion that repealed the missouri helmet law for riders over 21 not riding on interstate hiways.
the bill now goes to the house, where it has passed before.
Looks like we will finally lose the helmet law in this state.):h:D

Put me down for blow over pink. Previous owner used pink and I still havent gotten the taste out of the fresh water system. Bleecchh!
Took a grand total of 10 minutes to winterize the RV with the comp..
MAKE DAMN SURE YOU DONT EXCEED 20 OR SO PSI!!! It dont take much. Start in the...
My old RK had blue leds. Got all favorable comments, none unfavorable. Wound up putting purples on my buddys FLHX and I got Blue orderd for my new FLHX.
A buddy with a $35k pure custom chopper hates me because I'd leave the lights on when we park at a bar or whatever, and women (and some...
Pesonal record. 38 miles at 19*f indicated. Pretty chilly.
Rode last night. 55*F when we left, 38*f on the ride back. 116 mile round trip.
Cold is an opinion, and in 6 months we'll be bitching about the heat.

The high school band trailer (2 axle) that I routinely pull has been driving me nuts. It weighs about 4200 "empty" (racks and shelves, but no insturments) and it pulls like it weights about 10,000.
It wore the outside edges of both rear tires despite proper inflation. Looking at it, there...
The engine has a scavenging pump. That pushes oil back to the tank from the crankcase. If oil is not present in the tank when the engine is off, you might have a check valve that wont seat. It really dont hurt anything, but it will cause the oil to drain back from the tank to the engine...
No. I am perfectly capable of modulating my brakes to prevent wheel lock-up in a panic stop condition. Not worth the $$$. I also didnt get the factory Security system. The old push-button one on the 06 was ok, but the new proximity fob sucks. My buddy has it on his 08, and after the 3rd time he...
I have no pictures yet, but my new streetglide is resting comfortably in its new home. I'm only 65 miles into ownership but a few things are immediatly apparent.
The seat aint worth shit. Nice looking, but possibly the worst stock seat ever
The mirrors take some getting used to, but...
I guess in this case, that is true. But I hate accepting that because if you start beliving that theres nothing you can do, I feel you will start getting complacent. Your freind was obviously a skilled and attentive rider. Maybe even that wasnt enough.
We take our chances everytime we throw...
I am so sorry to hear of your friend. I am not without sympathy, but there is ALWAYS something that can be done. Did he leave enough room between him and the truck? Did he have an escape route planned? Was he in neutral with the clutch out, or in gear with it in? Did he think while he was...
I challange that notion. In my world it is 100% the riders resonsibility to ensure his own safety. If you are in a position where an inattentive could cause you harm, YOU have failed, not them.
I see people crying all the time about how some guy was killed when a car "Pulled out in front of...
For me, its not a question of "loud". Just "louder". Harleys have one of the truly great exhast sounds. Just like a inline 6 diesel, a v8 gasser, a Pratt and Whitney Radial, or a 4 cly sport bike. Its a viceral feeling when the exhaust note and the engine vibrations match up.
The stock...
I dunno. I am really thinking about Reinharts. Or maybe some TRex's
The V&H ovals are some nice sounding pipes, but I have yet to ride with anyone with em, so I only know what they sound like as they pass by.

after trips to 5 dealers, I finally got the deal I was looking for. I have my deposit down for a 09 FLHX Street Glide. Vivid Black.
I should get it around mid october. I got one more trip left on the Road King before she goes away. Gonna head down to G-burg on the second of october.
