Fixed it! When I changed out the overhead console I must have left the little microphone unplugged or didn't plug it in all the way. At any rate, it was unplugged :arf:. Plugged it back in and no more red light on the mirror.:banana:

there are a couple HP and Dell laptops at Walmart for under a grand. I got the Dell inspiron 1721 for about 950 a couple months ago. I think they are less than that now.
