I was ride'n a lot between January and May. Not a whole lot of miles, just jump'n on the bike to run here and there while the weather was nice. Now it's so friggn hot I don't even want to think about it.
Between my 2 bikes, I've probably only rode around 4-5k miles since January...
You hit the nail on the head right there. :iagree: Let's focus on the dumbasses that can't pay attension to the ****'n road!!!! :mad2: I don't know how many times I've have to goose it, slow down, straddle two lanes and even ride the sholder because some dipshit in a cage can't "see"...
We are staying on site (it's most interesting at 2am  ) and I have a lot of friends that are RVing there, so I should have a place to collapse when the time comes. If not, we are bringing a tent and can go that route too.
I don't plan on doing any riding once I get there, my buddy...
Any of you local guys going to the ROT Rally in a few weeks?? www.rotrally.com My buddy and I will be ride'n on over there after work on Friday (12th) and camping the weekend. I'm ready to see some ti........bikes. ):h :D
Ohhh, I got it.....
See, if you are doing 70mph on a back road and crash, you are less likely to hurt your head than if you were doing 70mph on an interstate and crash. That's it......where's my prize. ):h
But see, I don't consider your bikes a fashion statement. I could easily look at your bike and tell if it's been riden or not. Then look at you and how you look, get on and ride your bike and tell very quickly if you've riding a while or if you are just a weekend bar-hopper. It's no different...
Now that the 'trend' is over and the Jones's are getting slapped back to financial reality, choppers can go back to being what they were......and not a fashion statement.
I wanna say it was completed in the mid 80's. I need to ask again what it's titled as, but I thought it was titled as a '55 because that's the year of the engine that was put in it. The VIN is the same as the engine under a home built/custom machine. The rules were different back then...
OK here's the rest of the story:
This bike was on the cover of "Cycle" magazine December 1990 issue. Ron Wood of Wood Racing built it basiaclly with an unlimited budget to make a streetable flat-track bike. It uses a very hot HD XR750 motor that has had everything under the sun done to it...
Took the Duc out the other day after work. Quick 100 mile trip. Traffic sucks getting out of Houston anytime, so I have to play my cards right and make use of the HOV lanes.
Friday is our 'dinner ride' night. Me and a few friends get together on the first Friday of the month and ride...
It is actually street legal  That's part of the story.
The bad part is, there is no electric starter OR kick starter. It has a special 'thingy' that spins the rear wheel to start the engine. Just like a race bike. I guess you can only ride it as far as one tank of gas will take you...
I can tell you it's a one off origional worth about $75k  Painted by Boyd Coddington himself, built by...........don't remember, have to get my magazine back to find out ):h
:D
Any of you flat-trackers/motorcycle buffs out there ever seen this bike?? :eek5:
to be continued.................
Oh, BTW, that's me in the picture. ):h
Looks like it finally passed. Don't know if I'll do it or not, but it's good to know I can IF I choose:
