Driving with hazards on is required if you're going 15 (or more) under the posted speed from what I've been told. Not pulling over and calling for a tow when your front end starts falling apart is just criminal stupidity.
And yeah, if you tow frequently (weekly or more) then leaving the hitch...
If that extra 8-10" of iron sticking out from your truck is all it took to prevent you from taking any damage then two thoughts spring to mind:
The impact speed was so low you probably wouldn't have taken any damage anyway
If you didn't have that 8-10" of extra iron back there you probably...
Already got 'em. It don't help.
The worst was tearing up the front end on a rental car on one of those things. It was dark, raining, and the fwonking thing was painted all black. Ir was on an F-250 crew cab and was one of those 27lb. monsters I described. The truck by itself is long enough...
I checked other, because I see it as sort of an "All Of The Above (Plus)" choice.
all of the above plus...
idiots who are on the acceleration lane behind you, then pull out and pass you in the lane you're trying to merge into

Kirkland (Costco brand) in both trucks. Two in the GMC, one in the Dakota. Made for Costco by Johnson Controls, same company that makes a lot of the big name batteries already in the poll.
The one in the Dakota is about 6 years old now, still going strong. The two in the GMC are two years...
Said it on another forum and I'll say it again here. If they'd just find a way to make political bullshit an energy source we'd be energy independent by dinner time.
1999 GMC with the "F" 6.5 TD and 96k on the clock. Still with the originals but, oddly enough, when I changed glow plugs last month they were aftermarket. I'm the second owner on the truck and it had spent it's whole life in West Palm Beach before I bought it with 68k on it. No idea who...
That looks pretty close, but getting the spacers right (for belt alignment) will be critical to avoiding premature belt wear. Also, did you get the hose bracket? If not, what are your plans for supporting the upper radiator hose?
gmpartsdirect.com shows all the parts as being in stock. Total of about $150 with shipping to my door. Just waiting for the wife to get her W-2 and file our taxes before I order it and the second alternator.
Even old threads have good info. :)
I still have not found a bracket for mine though, and I really need it now. The truck is up to nine radios now. If you find one fastjohnny, see if they have two.
