I'm going to look at an '06 LBZ with 110,000 on the ODO. What kind of things do I need to look for? I've heard of the T-case pump rub issue, but what else?
The windshield washer reservoir is under the DS battery, so that shouldn't be in the way, I think the second battery goes on it's side on top of the fender well. Optimas, or some other AGM would be a must, of course.
Someone had both batteries on the driver side, can't remember who. That seems like a good way to go, then you only have to put one in the toolbox, so you'll have more room for crap.
Inside the bumper nostril, or even just behind the bumper. Just get it out of the engine compartment, or you'll be dealing with PMD/FSD issues next. You can use the heat sink it's on, you just need an extension cable.
It's 2000. Just for kicks go on Autotrader.com right now and search for 4x4 cc 1999-2000s with no limit on distance, those people are out of their gourds.
The paint is faded, but I didn't see any big dents. Hell, it's a 4x4 truck who cares anyhow? If it's 4x4, it's better to buy it with the body and pain broken in, that way you're not afraid to use it.

I found a 93 xcab 4wd dually around the corner from my kids' school for $3300 it's an AZ truck, so probably low on rust. Signage claims that it runs good. You don't see many xcab duallies.
I just bought one for BIN because I didn't want to wait, but if you guys take turns buying, you could get them cheap. It seems like he puts a new one up when one sells. linky
You gotta to learn to say f-it and get out the whiskey bottle, that's what I do when the trip starts going south. Another thing I always do is pack really good rain gear, so I would have grilled the steaks in the damn rain and smiled the whole time. Sorry to hear about your dog, though, that...
I vote for a newer crew cab. Get one with a DS-4, the later model pumps are supposed to be the most durable and make the most power. I read somewhere that the internals are more durable, and the electronic pumps can deliver more fuel. The only electronic problem I've had after 170,000 miles...
