After re-reading my post, it may have sounded like I was saying most people don't have much luck with the Shell Rotella. Actually I was saying most people have had good luck with the Shell, but I didn't. Sorry if led you to believe I though Rotella was a bad oil.
John,
My bad. I din't even notice that you had the 6.5. I must have glanced at the 2007 wheels by mistake and thought you had the 6.6.
I had used Rotella in both versions for a few years but I didn't have much luck with it like most people. Most times the Rotella had a funny smell to it, and...
If I may ask, what is your basis for stating the Mobil 1 is one of the "Worst" synthetics? What other synthetics are better in your opinion? Rotella, which is a very good oil has just come out with their new fully synthetic oil, but it is so new, I haven't heard any comments either way on it.
When MS first came out on the OCC show, I looked up the company on the stock market, read up on them, and from what I can tell the 3 people on their web site are the company. The woman is new in the business and worked in a completely different industry before joining the firm. They are big into...
Yes, the place with the dead snake that they imported. They started new homes in there, I think it will give them a total of 10. Elm and Goetz schools need the city water, the quality of their water passes the EPA standards but it could be better. One good that about Jackson is that the only way...
Their starting to build more new homes on butterfly. I was by there last week and looks like 6 new homes going in. They are selling for $200,000 less than before the crash. Usually if a development is already built and the builder didn't put in dry water mains, they will never get them because...
I go up to G.A. all the time. We run their water and sewer plant for them. Over the winter I've been to the water plant at least once a week, and try to stay away from the place in the summer. Still a lot of property at that end of town. If K Hov. ever builds all those houses out there, we are...
I'm east of Rt. 9 near Shop Rite, I have fresh water lake in my backyard that turns into salt water when it gets across the road and enters Stouts Creek.
Where in Jackson are you ? I work at the MUA on Manhattan Street.
Did you happen to be at 527 and Hope Chapel on Friday around 5:15? I was...
I've had mine done at STS. Most places I called including the STS in my town could not fit my truck on their alingment lift. Was too long with the crew cab and 8' bed.
I wish 3K was all I would have to pay for taxes, double that and you will see what I pay. I won't be able to retire in this state. There are no trailer parks in my town, but we pay for all the illegals whose children go to our schools. Whether it is in local taxes or Federal taxes, the money...
The reason for doing that is because the RV Parks send lots of kids to school and those families are not paying property taxes that pay for the schools. What do you expect from a town that will probably have had 3 mayors in a 1 year period. I've seen political towns, but Jackson takes the cake!
I would think you get good wear out of those tires. As was pointed out run them 50-55psi and they are safe. When not towing I ran my last set of tires at 55 psi and got 80K out of them.
Looking at your tank for gear oil, I have seen something else similiar if anyone has a boat with steering and throttle cable. I used to drive a concrete truck and the controls at the back of the truck used the same type of cables that boats use to control the throttle and the other for the...
I've done the front diff. 3X now and usually it is still clean, but as you mentioned, a silver sheen on the plug that had to be wiped off. I'm on my second 5 gallon pail of Transynd and change out the pan and filter every summer. The gear oil setup you made looks sweet, great idea. With the pump...
I have had the Michelon LTX A/T 2's for about a month now find them to be better than the Michelon LTX M/S that I had on before this. Handle excellent on dry roads, had 2' of snow last week and in 4 hi pulled out of the driveway without having to spin the tires. We only get snow a few times a...
I just got new tires this week. For the last 80K I had the michelin LTX M/S 247/75R 16, went with the same size and replaced them with the michelin LTX A/T 2. The tread on the michelins still could have gone another 20K or so, but after 6 years though they were getting dried out.
I started out with the Rotella T 15W-40 for the first 20K or so, went on to the Rotella Syntheitc blend 5W-40, Mobil 1 TD, Back to the Rotella 15W-40 for 10K, and now have decided to stay with the Mobil 1 TD 5W-40 and extend the change intervals to 7K. Many will say this is changing the oil too...
