Thanks for the info Nick.
I agree as well... I spent money for a new fan clutch this spring thinking the larger trailer would need it... The fan has yet to engage! Which is good because that means that the stock cooling system is keeping her cool with no help at all. At worst she has heated...
No one works on my engine except for me... No one around my area knows what to do with them either! I got so frustrated with dealer BS that I HAD TO WORK ON IT myself.
IMO if you can build a 350, you can maintain a 6.5. There are just more wires on a diesel.

I replaced mine a couple months ago... But the weather has not been hot enough to kick the fan on yet! (not complaining at all!)
The only reason I replaced my old clutch was for towing this summer. Next weekend I will pick...
Since I am a fellow 99 Burb owner let me weigh in on the way I see it. FWIW I have 8 miles before 200K!
I use my Burb as a daily driver at about 75 miles per day. Yes, I have put a lot of money into the "upgrades" for a little power boost and added reliability. All said I probably have a...
Two of my favorite places are Cloudland Canyon State Park in GA (great view of three/four states) and Edisto Island state park in SC.
I have been to many cities on business west of the Mississippi, but sadly have not gotten to explore much to give you advice... Well Vegas and New Orleans...
My opinion is that the MMO is waaaay too thin to run in a turbo application. I suspect a film breakdown which ate the turbo bearings.
It was reported years ago on an old air-cooled VW forum that MMO was basically kerosene (lamp oil) and could be used as a substitute. Even then when added...
Truth here, but looks like you got past that issue.
Sounds like you have an alternator issue at this point.
Google the term "big 3", maybe a youtube video will pop up. Essentailly you want excellent wires from the battery to ground(s) and alternator. I put an extra ground between the...

Dang Malibu that is a good load!
Well the Amazon order somehow got screwed up on the Hayden fan clutch... So on Brooklyn's input I switched to the Four Seasons SD fan clutch.
The Four Seasons Severe Duty fan clutch PN is 36754 and was $110 shipped through Amazon.
I will keep you all...
THIS! Or a Cummins repower :)
The Dodge was an extended cab with 6' bed. Two guys in it.
Actually I have always wanted to do a 70-72 Chevy C20 Suburban with a beefy diesel conversion. Maybe one day.
No worries on the beating. As Great White said, I am okay with the Burb being a...
Straight up stopped at a light waiting on green.... Crushed by a Cummins off the line in an older 2500. Granted he was rolling smoke so dare I say not stock. But he even let off a couple times, playing with me, and I still couldn't produce the goods. He heard the HX40 spooling at the...
Time for the Walbro FRC-10 kit from PMD Cable!
When I changed turbos I could not get enough fuel out of the Heath HO LP to feed the IP either. I changed to the FRC-10 and have been very pleased. Granted I still need to do the FTB mod. Perhaps a bypass like Bruce has done and get rid of the...
Check your LP as well if there is some fish bite. I think the higher pressures from a Walbro -10 help as well. Other than that grounds and grounds. Run an extra ground wire from the battery neg to the frame rail, IMO something GM should have done.
Nice find!!! Diesel Burbs are the best :)
That was a hell of a good deal too IMO!
I encourage you to replace the pulley with a Fluidampr, WaetherTech vent guards, and a 9 blade fan (stock or Duramax). Plus remote mount the PMD of course, first.
Looks good. I like the clear tubing.
The PMD issue might be a grounding issue with the two grounding wires that attach to the intake manifold in the rear of the engine. Just make sure those two wires are clean and well clamped.
