I got the trans in and all buttoned up. I put about 300km on it today and found that 4th has bad syncros, but that isn't a big deal. Found I have a fish bite issue on hard acceleration and sometimes at cruise... Pretty sure my lift pump isn't working. :( Also, my coolant temp still isn't...
God this thing is heavy! I got the trans into the bellhousing and into the throwout bearing, but now i have run out of energy. it's cold and I'm laying in the snow doing this. If it has to come out again I'm gonna cry. :( LOL I'm gonna rest up and hopefully tomorrow I'll be a bit stronger...
So, not only was the new fork machined incorrectly, the rod that actuates it was slightly bent. these 2 things were cocking the fork and not allowing it to move the collar squarely. Also, the split pins were not the correct size. I installed 2 proper split pins and then drilled and tapped the...
Well, I bought a new sensor and there was no change. :( The wiring is good because when I grounded the wire the gauge pegged all the way to the right.
Maybe the new sensor is bad??? Also, I put teflon on the threads and then thought that might cause a grounding problem so I used a jumper...
Do we know what size pully belongs on there? I know something is off in my truck because it reads around 2000 rpm in 5th at 55mph with 3:42 gears. I'm SURE this is wrong, but I also think my speedo is out...:S

Lincoln Mark IIIV...What years are they? I'd like to start getting parts to do this for my Burb. I don't know how the 3" BL will effect my cooling yet, but there is no harm in being ready for summer. :)

We found the problem!!!!
When I seized the trans I melted the 5th gear shift fork. I bought a new one but it appears that the new fork was machined incorrectly!
I will be ordering the new fork tomorrow.
I'll let everyone know how I fair. thanks for all the help!

I was so happy when I saw that my 'Burb had cruise. I do almost all highway driving so it's very nice to have. Saves on fuel too... I had borrowed my sister's 5 speed Pontiac Vibe recently and it does not have cruise. I hated driving it. :(

It worked!!! Ok, so I guess I need a new sensor...
I have had so many wiring issues with this truck so far that I assumed it was the wire. Plus, it worked before my body lift, so I had thought I had messed up the wire when lifting the body off the frame. Thanks for the help!!

They are both hooked up at the sending units. I am under the impression that the one on the head is the one for the gauge. Correct? The gauge doesn't move at all...key on or off, it sits well below any reading, just as if the key was never turned, you know?:mad2:
Thanks for the wiring...
Ok, after I did my B/L I noticed my temp gauge quit working. I looked around and couldn't see any pinched or broken wires, but I'm pretty sure I damaged it when I lifted the truck. This thing has had the wiring harness in and out more times than I can count by the PO so I usually like to jump...
LOL Thanks guys! I got my NV4500 out so I will get this set-up while I wait for the trans to get fixed.
I'm happy now that I've found the site again...

The heater hose/pipe assembly coming from the crossover leaks if it is moved a little bit. I'd like to replace it with a barb fitting and regular heater hose. I see there is threads in the crossover, can I buy a threaded barb fitting to screw in there? What size threads to what size barb do I...
It probably your Oil Pressure Switch. It's located behind the fuel filter and is known to go bad. Replace it and all shoould be well. You might want to try applying 12v to the pump just to make sure the pump isn't dead.
