I had similiar symtoms when my OPS took a dump.

A little square of black tape stuck over that annoying dash lite.

I had the same problem after a complete rebuilding of the front end. Black tape fixed it.

Is yours a 4x4? The best mileage I´ve seen has been 17/18. Thats 2000 rpm about 63 mph. Good luck and have fun on your trip.
