Misalignment took out a couple belts on mine,no problems since carefully aligning pulleys. Iirc it was the power steering pulley that was the culprit. It was a pressed fit & therefore adjustable. It was pushing the belts onto the fairly sharp shoulder of one of the other pulleys.
I believe the torque curve for the 6.5 peaks around 1800 rpm or so ,then falls off really steeply , thus the lack of gumption at higher rpm,s .
Would the att change the graph?

Just noticed that you are in B.C . Dont you have to have some kind of A modified drivers license for rv trailers over 10000lbs in your province ? Probaly not a big deal but thought maybe should mention it.
Repeating myself but have to concur with Ace . Frontal area on a High Profile 5ver can make for tough towing for a 6.5 where wind & hills are involved .
Best I would think would be to load up the truck itself with a load typical of what you would have on your trip (wife .kids. fuel etc} & get to a weigh scale & see what everything weighs . Then subtract that wt from the gvww rating of the truck to get your possible hitch wt. ( 15-20% of the...

Had an 84 Motor Home with 454 . First time the fan engaged (really hot day on a hill it nearly gave me a heart attack. Kind of wish sometimes I had that setup in place of 6.5.
Notice on Diag list that Batteries seem to lack "juice". Might not be a bad idea to first replace with a new set if questionable to help with cranking speed.
