One note that a lot of people pro's included forget,is that the very first thing that needs done is check tire pressure on all 4 corners!
Any chance you might get to caster/camber in this write up?
Road crown lead with caster or camber might be an important thing to include as well?
If you...
I have found that if you enter the trucks year as a 2000 with the snap on mt2500,that the TDCO value is in line with other scanners(carcode instructions specify this no matter the year of truck)-at least on the OBD2 trucks.
That is of no help to the OP though.
Have you checked to see if the fuel shut off solenoid is working?Often just holding it while a helper cycles the key to run should give you the feel and sound of a "click".
The FSO and PMD/IP fuel solenoid are both powered by the same fuse also so check your fuses(on OBDII it is called fuel sol...
Yes IP timing has to be done through the ECM and must be done with a bi-directional scan tool like a tech 1 or GMTD scantech.
A tech II with the OBD1 add on module would work also.
Factory spec for TDCO is: -0.25 to -0.75
Performance spec is : -1.5 to -1.94
Sometimes grime gets in and covers the check ball, try spraying some wd40 in each port of the solenoid and give it another chance once it gets rinsed off some.
It may take a couple of try's,cheaper to do that than replace but it may come down to replacement as the best option?
My new solenoid...
Keep in mind that ignition switches also fail.
If you lose the dash/instruments but the radio and blower motor keep working-consider the ignition switch as a potential source of the problem.
There are some foundry's near Fort Erie Ontario.
Bill Mitchell form World Products used one while perfecting the pour technique for his cast iron cylinder heads and then blocks later on.
I doubt that they are being used but who knows?
I asked the ebay vendor for the name and address of the...
Has anyone tried nylon air brake lines for shop air line routing?
I see it is available in many diameters including 1/2" 5?8" and 3?4" and pushlock fittings on one site I looked at available up to 1/2",perhaps even bigger?
800 psi burst on the 3/4" line eg...
The 3/8 fitting will work for both ends of the LP and the out line from the sending unit, the filter manager if stock has barb type fittings for rubber line and gear clamps.
The 5/16 fitting works for the return line at the sending unit.
IIRC the return and WIF line at the filter manager is...
Dorman and others make short metal lines with the proper fitting and o-ring as well as a flared and for rubber line connections that you can use for the sending unit and LP with fuel line between.
I think I have already posted the dorman #'s here but not sure.
Here are the papco fitting...
Sounds like a good plan, that way you will be able to monitor filter condition.
Where you had it at the WIF drain is pre filter and wouldn't have alerted you to a dirty filter.
More likely that the check ball inside the wastegate solenoid is stuck.
You could try spraying some WD40 into the solenoid ports to free up the internal components.
Make sure the lines are routed this way rather than having the wastegate solenoid vent covered by a vac line.
One note about the fuel pressure gauge.
It would be best to take the pressure reading somewhere between the filter manager and the IP.
You may also want to look up the TCC mod to have some engine braking on the downhill grades,I am not sure but it may be part of the heath tune when you get that?
