I'm glad you posted that, I was looking into upgrading my cooling system soon. That will save me $150, I also though the dual stat was essential, good to know now.
It's Opti-Lube XPD. I didn't buy it for the fuel savings, they actually don't advertise for fuel savings, it's sold because of the lubrication properties, suppose to be a slight cetane boost as well. Once the gallon got shipped to me there was a flier stuck in there that had a mention of fuel...
I just recently bought a gallon of the Opti-Lube to run in my fuel mainly to aid in lubricity. It says you can run it in the engine oil as well. Does anyone here have experience with doing so? It touts a 10-12% increase in fuel economy too...
Good deal.
I see on your past truck you did the cooling system upgrade, how much of a difference did that make. When i'm pulling a trailer with some weight behind my 6.5, it'll get a little warm, like around 200. How much of a difference did the Max Torque chip do for you as well. I've...
Run your vin number on comp nines website that has the vin/rpo code decoder. If you look at your rpo codes GT4 should mean 3.73 gears, GT5 is 4.10.
Nice burb though, real nice. I'm jealous. Its hard to find the older interior style without it being some terrible red color.
What kind of axle is in it now and what kind are you swapping in? I'd imagine you could as long as the springs will line up and you've got the clearance for wider dually wheels. The springs might have to move inboard more i'd imagine but not 100% sure.
I never knew a 3/4 ton could be had...
Biggest thing with Harbor Freight that i've experienced is you have to research their tools on their website. If the reviews are any less than 4 to 4.5 stars than I don't touch it. That rule of thumb generally works for everything.
Biggest thing is powering it. 20Kw is plenty. I hooked up a PTO driven 25KW for a friend the other day after some storms rolled through. You need to have a safe way to hook it to your panel. Buy a properly sized 2 pole breaker and come off it with a 12' whip of SJO cable into a plug that you...
How old are your batteries? Doesn' hurt to get them tested, kinda sounds like to me they aren't keeping enough amperage to crank that engine. And if it's not a gear reduction starter you put on i'd think you should take it back for one that is gear reduction.
Looks real good. What series filter setup is that, the 230R?
From reading on their website it says the R20T filter is a 10 micron filter designed to be a secondary filter setup. I'd assume though that 10 micron is plenty enough to be the only filter? Offhand do you know what the factory GM...
I've never understood why people torque the piss out of oil filters. I do the same as WarWagon, 1/4 turn or so after gasket touches. I've never needed to use a filter wrench to take one off that I put on. Also never had one leak oil or vibrate loose either. Applying some oil on the filter...

The sixth and seventh picture kinda show you where the CTS is. Couldn't find an actual picture of the t-stat, sorry.
