Get the Heath PMD kit first and worry about other upgrades later. If I had to do it over again I would do this:
1: Heath PMD, Battery cable mod/ground clean/any free mod upgrade repair
2: Walbro Frb-5 Lift pump with a spin on pre-filter.
3: Injectors
4: Exhaust
5: Cooling mods (if...
Nice job bro. You stuck it out and fixed your problems and even came up with some good info for the rest of us on the fuel pressure. Nice when you can save some money and fix what you can by yourself and only have someone else do it when your unsure of your own abilities. Again nice job and glad...
I installed the SSD Kit on my Blazer without the muffler and love the sound. It does however set off car alarms from 2-3 cars away):h. Under load without the muffler it can drone at highway speed but its not so bad that my wife would complain (she actually likes it!!) and she doesn't like it...
Just like your valve springs the springs in the injectors ar made to a +/- range. Balancing the injectors only narrows the range so they all pop at a closer pressure making a smoother running better preforming engine. The only way I know of is to shim the lower pressure springs untill the pop at...
And since you hae to replace the front cover you might as well r&r the timing chain or replace with gears. Also might as well r&r all seals you can get to while its out to same time and trouble later. Great time to inspect lowre block foe main web cracks and other assorted goodies.
I think you found your problem. Mine was like that when I replaced it with the FRB-5 (don't tell the wife:nono:). It was letting air in enough to cause a stumble at load.
X2 on that, made a huge difference on my Blazer when I installed the 4" stainless steel with no muffler. Even got a great comment from a BMW driver one night on the way home from work about how good it sounded after he stayed on my starboard quarter for like a mile listening to it. I wanted to...
Dont let him start it until your there to watch it start cold. Worst mistake you can make is buying a truck that you didn't start or watch it start from dead cold.
You would also have to add the cruise control from a 93 and I think that the gas and diesel version is the same so it shouldn't be to hard to add it if necessary. If the truck is'nt going to be used for long travel then cruise is not necessary. Just my .02
Well at least it was the bellhousing and not the engine block. You can at least put a new/used bellhousing in pretty cheap and easy. Its only cast aluminium. As for the dual mass flywheel I'm not sure perhaps others here will know.
Mine took 6 gallons and I used the 50/50 pre-mix because they can get it perfect at the factory and they use distilled water so no worries. Some might say the stuff is to exensive but I say 6 gallons of prevention versus 800 pounds of new engine cure.
So your worried about heating parts that are made to deal with high heat???? Also the only part that could be damaged is going to be replaced so it wouldn't matter if it was destroyed by the heating. Try a little heat and you'll be suprised by the results.
The "WD" in in WD40 stands for water displacment so it wouldn't make sense for it to have water in it. That being said anything that has a low flash poin should not be used in a diesel with glow plugs due to risk of severe engine damage when the glow plugs ignite the fuel. The idea of warming...
