Make sure you get the transmission control module when you pull the engine or you'll have to source another to make yours work. Also while the engine is out it's the best time to pressure wash the engine bay and clean all those grounds while your there. Might even consider repainting the engine...

Got the truck towed to a local AAMCO. WOW!!!! Ok first lets start with I have an degree in auto/diesel tech from UTI. I talk to first guy and he gets the truck towed and says they will test drive it and scan it and give me an estimate for repair. No big deal. He calls me and tells me my truck is...
The manifold is the second worst place to mount the PMD. Best is outside the engine bay (IE: Heath kit w/seven year warranty). Sounds like PMD to me but best to wait till someone else chimes in to be sure. You said you wern't sure if you got steady flow from the t-valve whe running the lift...
Thanks so far guys, the truck is getting towed to the tranmission shop a quarter mile from the house for diagnosis. I'l report back when I know more but it sounds like its the 3rd reverse clutch pack. I'll most likely pull it myself and take it to them for a rebuild and stab it back in. Hoping...

Thanks, good to know. I did lose reverse but I also lost drive so I'm confused. It drove off like normal until it hit drive and then started to act up. I guess I'll have to get it to the shop and see what I can figure out.
Well last night or real early this morning depending on how you look at it my tranny quit me. I was backing into a spot at a local watering hole going to a going away sendoff for some fellow service members when reverse quit working. Thought well crap something I'll have to fix, parked it and...
Yes you need a special tool for the spring but it is well worth the small price for it. I did mine back in November when I was at my moms for thanksgiving. I had done the same thing on a S-10 Blazer before with out the tool and while it can be done it takes far to long and is way to aggrivating...
I know on my 94 the orifice tube is located in the condenser in the grill. I had to repalce the condenser in mine because I couldn't get the orifice tube out of the old one. I now have to replace the evaporater in the dash because the old dryer galled the threads on the old one. At this point I...
Sounds like he got a "counter guy" not a real "parts guy". Now they just hire someone and teach them to run the computer and thats about it. I go in sometimes around here and try to talk to them about what I want to do and they have no clue what I'm getting at. I have found that if I go to an...
"Thanks for looking. After a little thought, I guess it doesnt need to be as thick a gauge since the alt actually created AC power and the battery converts it to DC power. So a thinner gauge is acceptable then."
Half right... Alt does produce AC power but the diode inside makes it DC not the...
I installed the heavy duty headlight harness from LMC and noticed that the switch doesn't even get hot now. I also put a diode in the back side of the relay connectors for all four headlights on, no problems since.
