Not a stupid question...the 2wd's use the old spindle/bearing setup and the 4wd's use the unitized bearing assemblies. 2wd's can and should be repacked as a matter of routine maintainence and the seal replaced.
On 94 models the override switch was optional and was not part of the headlight switch. It is located under the switch at the bottom of the dash in the row of knock outs.
Update:
Did a 1400 mile road trip with the better half through the Great Smokies and Blue Ridge mountains without somuch as a hiccup from the tranny. Great customer service from everdrive.com and no troubles out of the tranny. I mounted the cooler basicly under the drivers side backseat behind...
I have about 20,000 on mine now with no issues. I did notice that after it was installed it idled better and runs smother. As stated above all heavy duty diesels use gear drive for longevity and accurate timing.
:iagree:
Thats why when I installed my B&M, I placed it under the truck with a 10 inch fan. It's basicly right under the back seat drivers side and as soon as I can get the new lines made up I will relocate the oil cooler there as well. As for the tranny temps, it runs cooler now than before...
The frame rails on the HD's are straight in order to mount service bodies. They are made to a standard width so body manufacture's don't have to make 10 different models of beds to fit 10 different trucks. Your frame is a light duty one ton and is made more for ride comfort from a more compliant...
Best way IMO to get the wires on is to take it off at the battery end and pull it down with the starter. The small wire going to the solenoid has enough slack to get it off when the starter is down. It makes it easier to get the battery wire off the starter without the danger of grounding the...
I've seen setups like this on S-10 Pick ups where they used a S-10 Blazer tank in the same manner. The easy fix for fill is to actualy cut the filler door out of the donor truck and install it in yours. When you cut out the old one make it much larger than you think you'll need to give you extra...
It most likely lasted that long because it never got used before. Most of the vehicles never had the lever moved or button pushed to engage the 4X4 that most of the previous owners most likely never knew they had let alone what it was for.
I think someone is jerking your chain on this one. Heath is a proven fix for the problem despite what they told you. I hope they at least gave it back to you:eek:!!!!! You should go ahead and remount it and use it. Mines ben there for 3+ years with no problems at all!! BTW don't ever go to this...
Theres a switch on the lever that sends power to the to the problimatic TLA. They sometimes go bad but the TLA is more likely. But it always makes sense to check the free stuff first, after all it's free.
Knowing GM they probably have the same patteren but I haven't checked it out. But someone was saying in a post above that the stuff off a gasser would fit.
