The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

So I started putting a few things back on the motor today. Got the head as far as I can go until it's put back on, so I figured I start on the block. Test fit the rings and head gasket today.....can't wait to get this thing clamped back down. Nothing big, just put the motor mounts on...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

As fast as that air is moving, I think it's HIGHLY unlikely that it affects temperature at the intake.....not enough to make an impact on power anyways. I routinely put 72 lbs of boost through that CFM+. I was more concerned about spraying it than I was with the boost. One good nitrous...

    FASS filtration deception.

Can't say that I've ever taken a truck and dyno'd after simply adding a new pump. Because most guys ignore the fact that they need to do supporting mods before they start doing power mods because the stock system can't keep up. Either that or they replace it when the OEM pump fails. I...

    FASS filtration deception.

Feel free to enlighten us here, hoot. You like to dissect and redirect everything thrown at you, now how about answering the question. You have this thread copied and pasted here, on CF, on TDR and every place in between with the same crap, so let's here it. I have a feeling I already...

    FASS filtration deception.

Yes, that's for the 150/150, or the HD Series. That HF6601 is a 10 micron filter.....a bit too big for the common rail pump and injectors. Bosch has stated that anything bigger than 7 micron acccelerates the wear on the CP3 and injectors. The only reason I keep a 6601 on hand for is if...

    FASS filtration deception.

With that added filter, all you'd need is a stand alone pump. Any of the pumps will work fine with it. With the mods you have in your signature, anything more than a 95 or 100 GPH pump would be complete overkill. Something like a Holley "Blue" would be more than enough. At 9 psi, it's...

    FASS filtration deception.

Now, the REALLY nice setup is the Platinum series. 1 filter, 2 micron filtration, 99% free water removal with Racor's Aquabloc. http://www.fassride.com/portals/0/P%20C10%20095G%20&%20150G.pdf

    FASS filtration deception.

Is yours the larger 150/150 or the smaller 95/150? The larger one is the HD series. The smaller oner is the Titanium series. If you have the larger one, then you can use the same filters I have posted earlier. Both the Duramax and the Cummins use the same Bosch pumps and injectors, the...

    FASS filtration deception.

Okay, let me say that FASS is extremely easy to deal with on warranty work. I call, talk to tech, describe the problem, I get parts sent. FASS ALWAYS refers issues to the vendors. Specifically the selling vendor of the product. Why? Because most of the time issues get resolved right there...

    FASS filtration deception.

I'm not capable of agreeing with anything?.....I don't have to agree with a DAMN THING in my truck build. Last time I checked, you aren't the one paying for it, you aren't the one turning the wrenches, you aren't the one that takes your truck out EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND and puts almost $30K worth...

How should I clean this mess up?

Sorry, just saw this....... All I ever do is wait for the engine to be cool, put a bag over the air filter, spray it with simple green, let it set for a little while, hose it off with LOW PRESSURE (i.e. garden hoes). Once wrong angle with a pressure washer and you're cutting hoses or lines.

    FASS filtration deception.

Whenever you look at these filters, the way Fleetguard codes them is this. HF is a Hydraulic Filter....rated for much higher pressures than the standard fuel filters. FF is a Fuel FILTER.....if it has an FF part number, it IS NOT a water separator at all. FS is a Fuel SEPARATOR....these...

    FASS filtration deception.

For the record..... For the FASS 150, which is what I run on MY personal truck, this is what I use, this is what I stock, this is what I sell, this is what I recommend. Unlike some folks that sling parts out of their bedroom and don't even own a diesel and sure as hell don't work on them...

    FASS filtration deception.

Brother, I sell FASS, AirDog, Aeromotive, Holley, and damn near every other brand of pump out there. I also build the system custom if that's what a customer wants. I don't stock the filters that come with the FASS or the AirDog, nor do I recommend them when someone calls for filters. What...

    FASS filtration deception.

What you're not posting is that there are OPTIONS for the FASS filters. You're hammering the maker of the pump, not the maker of the filters. It's real simple on a FASS. You upgrade the primary filter to an HF6604 (3 micron) and the water separator to a REAL water separator, FS1000VE...

    12v charging system sky high

I would use another volt meter first. 19V will destoy all your electical in short order. As was stated, over 16V and things are getting cooked. If it's cranking slow and you're seeing higher than 14.5 volts while running, then the batteeries are probably shot and the regulator is seeing...

    12v charging system sky high

Is it getting that voltage while running at one or both batteries? If it's at both, I'm surprised the batteries havn't exploded yet. If it's only at one battery (likely the passenger side), then check the slave cable between the batteries. Other than the alternator, start checking grounds.

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

I HAD a CFM+ on it. The problem is, they don't do wll with high boost and nitrous. A good nitrous back fire tends to dissintegrate the CFM's. The new one is an S&B.

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

So, got some more work done today. Figured I'd get all the stuff assembled on the head. Made a few modifications to some existing parts and added some new ones. First, gutted the grid heater.....I live in AL, it's never cold enough to need it. For you Dmax and PowerStroke guys, this is...
