The '03 and '04 trucks idle at ~5K psi. The 04.5+ trucks idle at ~6.8K psi. The 03/04's have and 8 hole injector nozzle with smaller holes, requiring less pressure to atomize. The 04.5+ use a 5 hole nozzle with larger holes.

Today was "clean the trans and get it ready for assembly" day.
Started cleaning everything up and decided to repaint the case.
I think I found the perfect color and texture for it. Black and Hammered!

Doesn't sound like a trans issue. If you have your foot buried and there's no power, the trans isn't going to upshift, it thinks the motor is loaded down.
It sounds like a fuel issue.
First thing I would check is the fuel pressure to the pump and change the fuel filter.
If you have good...
Governor springs in the pump.
The stock springs start pulling fuel back right in that range and by the time you hit 60 MPH, the truck only makes about 60 HP.
Swap the gov springs for a 3K set, or 4K if you upgrade the valve springs and it's a whole different animal.
Also, check the fuel...
Well, good thing I broke the trans down.
The clutch packs and band were SMOKED. I had 2 sets of steels and frictions that were welded together and the band was nicely burned.

Soooooo, the BOMB'r is back on the lift.
I lost 1st gear the other day and could not figure out what the hell was going on.
If it was in drive, it was trying to start in 2nd or 3rd, but when you applied throttle, it would try to go to first and just stop.
It still had reverse and 3rd...
Yeah, that was just screwing around. If I turn the fuel all the way up, turn the torque management all the way down, turn the timing all the way down and floor mat it with no boost, it'll damn near spit raw fuel out the exhaust.
But, tuned how it normally is and should be, the smoke isn't...
