Okay, so I got around to to putting the ladder bars on today.
First, I gotta say these things came packaged AWESOME! Finally, someone that understands I don't want stuff showing up pre-screwed before I even get a hold of it. Kudo's to Glacier on that.
Second, I'm REALLY impressed with the...
And........
Torquezilla is complete!
Pump seal and guide studs.....
Trans pump.....
Accumulator.....
Valve Body.....
Almost done.....
Checking end play. Should be between .038" and .084".....
'
SunCoast Torque Converter that was rebuild...
Ain't no added chrome on mine. I'm not a chrome guy at all.
It's just silver engine enamel to match the truck.
Should look good sitting inside the black drive shaft loops.
So, some how overnight shipping turns into 4 days and I still don't have my clutches......there showing as getting delivered tomorrow.
Which, like when I had the motor out of the truck turns into time to do things that I otherwise wouldn't have.
Decided I was sick of looking at the rusty...
I'm planning on going down.
HIGHLY doubt we'll run, but if we do I already have a driver for the truck.
More than likely we'll just be watching this one......they gonna be some CAAAAAARNAGE, I know that much.
Yup, I agree.
There's gonna be some big money trucks, but the race isn't over until the finish line.
Anything can break. Anybody can fall asleep at the light.
Can't win if ya don't race, ya know.
But, that's why I stick to the test and tune nights. No classes, no big buy-ins, no...
That's the thing, bushings aren't allowed unless the compressor wheel protrudes into the bushing at least 1/8. That means cut wheels, so it's not as simple as just making a bushing and stuffing it in.
The thing with the sled pullers is 1 - most are manuals, 2 - they're not setup for the...
The big thing is, for the guys that are building trucks for the event, there's not gonna be a lt of test time available.
The guys that live up north or at higher elevations are pretty much done running for the year and won't be able to T&T prior to the event.
This is going to come down to...
Okay, got some more work done on the trans today.
As soon as the clutches get here tomorrow, it'll be ready to go in.
OD section in the trans mount.....
Main case attached to the OD section.....
Intermediate shaft and planetary gear set installed.....
Rear drum and...
Already done.
Garmon set the VB up as a high pressure unit.
Instead of running at 95 psi, it's going to run at 195 psi.
That's one of the reasons I swapped the apply lever on the front band. It had a 5.0 lever and using it with the new VB would have broken the case. The apply lever in...
Forgot to put these pics in yesterday.....had them on the laptop.
Here is the stock vs billet output shaft. Notice how much smaller the shoulder is and how much the diameter is reduced at the base of the splines on the stock piece.....
Here are the internals of the OD section...
Look at the inside of the two clutch discs.
The one on the left is one that came out. The teeth are a fine pattern to engage the sun gear on the intermediate shaft.
The one on the right, while it's the same overall diameter, uses a course pattern. These clutches are meant for the low /...
Okay, this SOB is as ready to go as I can get it until the new clutch disks get here on Monday.
Here's the sub-assemblies going together.....
Checking the tolerances.....
Cleaning the burns off the reaction plates.....
Here is why I can't put it together. Look at the...
It always does.

It's turning more and more from an "Everyday Joe" event, which is what it started as and is becoming a "if you ain't putting down 1000 hp...
Here is what I see happening with this.
This race is going to come down to the truck that is reliable enough to make the passes, the driver that can cut a pro tree light, and a truck that runs low 11's.
Driver, tuning and suspension setup are gonna win this one.
I'm half tempted to toss...
I've got 3 stock turbos and a stock intercooler for you.
The reason that stock intercooler blew is the '05's had plastic end tanks and it probably blew the seam.
I have a stock '06 intercooler and 3 stock turbos that'll do ya right.
$300 for the turbo, $400 for the intercooler plus...
If this is out of line, please delete it.
The folks over on CompD are lining up a 100 truck, $50K payout race for this spring at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, FL.
