I would visit the dealership and see if a relearn on the trans adapts wouldn't help this situation. I have a feeling that Aisin is not as close as they would like to be as far as having this unit dialed in.
Well now that I have been working on this joke of a trans I will tell you this.
There are no parts for it. Valve body's wear out at the acumalator portion and there is no saving it. The valve body is on back order because Dodge cannot make enough fast enough for the failures. The one sided...
We all know that the converter can generate a lot of heat depending how hard it is working; that's a given. So if you saw 300 F at the converter while working the converter ( stalling it ); that is normal and tells you nothing as all converters are capable of this in certain situations. What is...
I would say your converter is slipping. Put a Tech 2 on it and watch TCC slip. If it's between 35 and 50 rpm slip it's unacceptable and will throw a 1870 code. When this code is throw, line pressure elevates ( hard shifts ) and you will lose 4th gear.
I don't respond much to pm's. The proper questions never get asked or answered. You can call me with your questions or if you're not comfortable with that you can pm BIG DIPPER. I bet he feels as I do.:D Plus he knows 10 times more than I do. Pm him.:D
Well, I asked the same question a couple of years ago.
I built a SC 3 for my friend Frederick for his '05 LLY. He shipped his Duramax to Australia for a walkabout for a year. He ran the Edge Juice on level 5 at all times and beat the snot out of it in the outback. I had to send him parts for...
There is always the chance that your converter will apply very hard when you use this valve so be ready. Some people don't want to tell you the dirty little secrets and only want to sell you product. You can always tell when an infomercial folows a tech answer.
I've been toying with the thought of building an all out 4L85E for the Duramax. The biggest problem right now is the overdrive planet. If this problem can be overcome, it will be a great option. These smaller transmissions do well in light trucks but when you put them behind 7.000 trucks with a...
