Hola everyone
havent posted anything in a long time but thats because the dually has been running like a charm without any issues (thank God) I came to the forum to show off the new member of the family a 94 K1500 Z71 I bought off of craigslist from some dude in San Antone. The SES light is...
my oil pressure gauge fluctuates when Im towing and sometimes empty too, it goes anywhere from halfway between 40 and 0 to halfway between 40 and whatever the max is, I checked the oil level and needed slightly over half a quart, topped off but still does the same.. first was the lift pump...
update
Went to my mechanic's shop this morning and asked him about my mexican fix idea, he suggested jumping the pump from a wire that only draws current when the ignition is on, took less than five minutes now I can hear the pump when the key is turned.. so far so good, the truck seems to...
Oh crap!! I dont think theres a parts store that carries diesel specific rubber hose in this flippin town. it hasnt died on me yet today though,
I'll try and get a fuel pressure gauge next time I go to Texas cause the ones I can find here show like 10 psi increments..
thanks for all the input...
Thanks I had already gone through that thread.. I crawled under the truck to see if LP stayed on after turning off the engine, it doesnt, while under there I saw a fuel leak probably from blowing air into the tank, I believe bending such old and crusty hose made it crack so I just replaced all...
so basically OPS is more likely to be the culprit?
hmmmm, maybe doing a mexican fix will cure the ailment, running a jumper wire into the LP relay with an in cab switch to bypass the OPS and run LP on demand. unwise I know but the price for parts keeps adding up and the USDollar MXN Peso...
Yeah I have a diesel fuel cap, dont think I've heard the LP running after killing the engine, will check on that tomorrow if it doesnt stay on means the OPS is going bad?
I hear the LP ticking when I run the wire from the batt positive to the relay. the truck only dies when its restarted after it ran for a while, so Im guessing the LP is good.. I'll check under the fuel filter tomorrow, any other ideas?
yesterday saw some cracked rubber lines under the truck...
Thanks for the responses everyone, I live about one and a half hours from the border with Texas and I do have a mailbox in there so thats where I get stuff I buy online.. Overseas?:nono: geez!! theres only a river between Mexico and gringoland but I digress
I blew air into the tank from...
Apparently this is exactly whats happening as part of the intake tubes and the piece of plastic held with clamps looks wet with oil. I've been looking online for this EGR valve at napa oreilly and such but all I get is gasket sets and connectors, my question would be, is the EGR something that...
I've been looking at tank sock pictures and I dont think I remember seeing that when I dropped the tank and pulled the FSU out, however I still did the air into the tank trick, hopefully that'll fix it. Also my LP looks different than those on another threads pics and theres quite a bit of a...
ECM first, the mechanic said neither the lift or the IP were getting any signals and something about the previous owner powering a ground cable or something like that, long story short ECM was toast.
I see the Tuna Can, but dont think its ever been changed and I dont see anything over the...
took me a while to get back with this cause I was out of town but here it is:
Truck starts and works great but sometimes re starting after killing the engine it does start but dies after 5 or so seconds, purging air out of the fuel filter and t valve will make it purr again.

Hola
Ever since I got my truck running a couple months ago I've been having a little issue with fuel delivery (my guess) the truck starts no problem works like a charm but sometimes I have to kill the engine to avoid long periods of idle (diesel price keeps going up here every week) then when...
