connected turbo to vac pump, there seems to be a small improvement in power under acceleration, less black smoke and one big puff of white smoke. getting codes 31 and 92 again.. still rattling.
checked for vac directly from the pump, there is vacuum in that line, also theres vacuum at the hose connected to the EGR but still none at the turbo, the rattling is still there but less noticeable.. and it still feels like it needs more power under acceleration..
think a TM will solve this...
I'd been thinking about the TM thing but man, they're pricey! sounds like a pump delete and EGR block are the way to go.. is there a writeup for these procedures? also, anyone has a TM they're willing to part with?
just got under the hood, the vac lines look fairly recent, and followed them to the three little black boxes they plug into (dont know the name of these) started the truck and disconnected the vac lines to check for vacuum at these little boxes but got zero vac at idle (right now I dont have...
Dang, should have gotten one yesterday when I was in TX. How do I know the vac pump is working? and wasnt there a vac pump delete mod? I think I saw that back at the place.
Got up this morning and plugged both that goes into the EGR and the EGR itself since I didnt remember which one I was supposed to, cleared codes and test drove. Now it starts rattling at about 1/3 throttle lots of black smoke, little power and as I keep on pushing the pedal the smoke begins to...
any ideas as to what the rattling at WOT might be?
I dont care much about the EGR, I'll probably just swap the intake for a non EGR one in the future ($)
Hola everyone
I got my new PMD installed today on the 1500 (thanks Leroy) the truck started right up, I cleared previous codes (see my other thread) and went for a test drive, the truck runs fine and all but now theres a noise coming from the engine bay at WOT that can be described as a...
looks like the crappy fsd finally gave.. went to start the rig this morning, it did and then started rattling bad for about 2 secs, I killed it and tried to re start but no luck.. it had been randomly stalling at times but usually it would start right back... Leroy do you take paypal?
I'd take it off your hands for 8k in a heartbeat, not that I have them but I'd sell stuff to get the funds, I have day dreamed about a diesel camaro for a looong time.. oh and great job btw!
all I could manage to do was one off of the several connected to that very spot.. its raining like crazy and more rain on the way as "Alex" approaches, cant do any work on the truck
I started cleaning the grounds today, didnt think they'd be so hard to get to..did just three of them, both batteries and one behind the engine on the passenger side.. I think Im gonna have my mechanic neighbor do it or show me how..
We have regular sulfur diesel here in Mexico so no big deal about that, the PMD already has a long harness I can just relocate it (two years ago I did that on the dually but kept it inside the engine bay where the fan cools it off and its working great) budget is kinda tight but I definitely...
I will do the grounds when dad gets back with the truck tonight, the pmd is remote mounted but its a pretty sloppy job (located inside the engine compartment attached to a crappy heatsink and a fan that looks like a computer's to cool it off)
when I bought the truck it had a bottle of diesel...
finally got around to pull the codes on the 1500 today, I got 31, 32, 33, 35 and 36, truck's been running good 'cept for one time that stalled on my brother and took a while to re start, I immediately thought PMD but who knows... thoughts?
also seems to be using oil... hope I didnt get a...
