    700r4 np241 to nv4500 np241 swap help

This is why I like this forum you learn stuff you thought you already knew but are shocked to find you were...were...were... <gag> wrong. I have had in the back of my mind converting the tired old Ramcharger of mine to 6.X diesel power, 700R4, 208. BUT the Dodge is passenger side drop...

What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other motorists?

:rant:I swear the next time I walk into a trailer hitch I am going to sue, and I am not one that goes there ever. But leaving in the hitch is so over the top "I don't give a shit about others" I think a few law suits and changed laws in is order. :cussing:And I am not one of those yelling "there...

leaking arp head studs. GM Sealant tabs?

I emailed a guy in my car club that I remembered had a Vette that oozed coolant into its crankcase. This is what the local vette heads told him to use and it worked. http://barsproducts.com/catalog/view/7-head-gasket-cooling-sealant-hg-1 (mfg's website)

leaking arp head studs. GM Sealant tabs?

I don't remember if you tried it or not but if not throw in some of that new(ish) stop leak with the aluminum powder in the polymer base. I forget right off who makes it. It keeps fixed the porous (as best as I can figure) block or head in a LS engined car we drive nearly every day. Worth a...

Okay, am I screwed, and if so, how screwed am I?

Its the later models that can have a dual pattern. For instance I have a TH350C that was behind a 89 Olds diesel that is Chev/BOP. As far as the cutting off the the bell housing of a 4L80E, that is thinking out loud, research would be required. I don't know if Summit has the parts I mentioned.

What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other motorists?

Or the same idiots that park head in and leave that hitch to take out your shins. :cussing: Makes me want to pull out that hitch and toss it through their windshield. :rocketwhore:

Yea! I was thinking someone was going to try MPG improvements on the OEM vac control. Now if it was a HX40II with the OEM vac control adapted. :D

Okay, am I screwed, and if so, how screwed am I?

There are TH350(C)'s TH250C Th200's and so on that have dual chevy and BOP (Buick Olds Pontiac) patterns. But no 700R4/4l60(e) 4l80E's & Th400's that did. Some few had V6 bolt patterns (S10,Astro) and even Jaguar patterns (TH400). TH400's can be found with BOP patterns since they were used in...

Make sure your fabrication skills are top notch. And wear safety glasses. Trust me. :)

What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to other motorists?

One of the biggest issues we have here in the mixed rural and interstate area is the knuckle heads that don't have a clue how to merge into traffic from a ramp. I have had them get to the top, panic and slam on the brakes, or just go on out into traffic with out any effort to merge. The worst...

Why is it so hard to get big power out of IDI compared to DI? (keep reading)

Sexy pictures :) No need for debate the facts are... well, the facts. I am wondering what sort of fancy engine rig they used to get those photos. The basic difference IDI to DI is that DI wastes less heat because it makes the flame ball right in the center of the bore. IDI waste a lot of...

Turbo Maps -- your thoughts please

I see a big test rig with something along the lines of a roots blower driven by a motor bigger than house wiring would run, with variable speed on the drive side to spin up the turbo. On the compressor side I see pressure gauges and flow meters and a valve to provide variable back pressure. You...

    HX40II Turbo Install

Sounds like good work if you can keep the flow up. With this fuel injection they are using now I wonder if they need a software guy :)

    Diesel specifications---good info---please view!!!

Yup. Most bench racers don't consider this when comparing the ISB to the 6.X engines. So NO ISB powered 1/2 tons or sport-utes (OEM any way). And that is why the ISA (and the similar Isuzu) makes a lot of sense in Suburbans if you have got to ditch the 6.x. If you consider the power to weight...

    RockAuto Code

Rock Auto seems to use FedEx exclusively at least out my way, This really toads the wet sprocket. FedEx takes an extra day or sometimes two for me over UPS. You might as well ship USPS. I am serviced out of Roanoke for FedEx even though that's 3 times the distance the UPS depot in Lynchburg is...

    RockAuto Code

Watch what you click on. "protection" Watch what you click on. Rock Auto is now doing like a lot of sites "offering" in a tricky way "credit card protection". They ask for your ccv code on the back of the card a 2nd time and your zip and what not. If you don't click on the NO THANKS button to...

    Injector Nozzles

Just maybe an eight cylinder rotary pump is not reliable delivering the same pressure as a six cylinder version. In the eight cylinder version everything in the high pressure section is closer together, less metal, less room for sealing and so on. I do believe a DB4 is bigger than a DB2 in the...

Needle Scaler is cheap and does not kick up to much dust and its DIY. Soda blast is the opposite makes a big mess, that crap gets into every thing. I assume you are thinking about taking it to a blasting shop?

What it wont take off is tight and doesn't need to come off. Scale off the flaky stuff then hit it with the Formula 3000 or something like it. Painting is optional.
