Turn up the IP for turbo or not?

For what its worth :hihi: My 86 Sub 1/2T 2WD got 21-22 at highway cruise. My buddy's got a 96 Sub 3/4 ton 4WD he swears gets 20 on the highway. IIRC it has a GM-8 on it, straight piped and is stock other wise.

    Suburban Fuel Filler Neck

This plan seems entirely reasonable. Go for it, with a diesel cap of course.

Eggs, how do you like 'em?

:eek:You forgot omelet and frittata. Both can have veg meat and cheese in them, raw ingredients have to be fully cooked first. The omelet is cooked in a fry pan fillings added and folded. The frittata is started in a fry pan and often finished in the oven or broiler. You add the fillings to the...

2wd Allison swap into 93 C2500(HD): how much modifying?

Errr :???: The point of my post was that TCI has found a way to make the over drive take 1000hp and the torque associated with that. So then they can split 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear with the OD via a special valve body and their PCM. Plus they have removed the cast on bell housing in favor of a...

2wd Allison swap into 93 C2500(HD): how much modifying?

Here's a thought from left field. Since you're starting with a 6.5/4l80e, one of TCI's 6 speed 4l80e's might be a better way to go if you are going to spend a lot of money and time. Cuz time is money. Rated to 1000hp and a lifetime warranty, bell housings for many applications (6BT? :) ). They...

    Poll Idea's

Now its getting nippy in the mid east. gardens are going to sleep for the winter. That makes me wonder what sort of vegetable gardening the guys do. The size of our gardens are often indicated by the equipment we use to prepare them, so that is what I am going by. I have no place for a garden...

What do you dip your french fries in?

    holset H1C ( CKO )

:link: :olcoot: If its for a 12V Cummings then its real close to the HX40WII several guys have used that is also a 12V Cummings replacement. But a link would be nice. I have been eyeballing this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200819961027 the hot side trim is...

It better not be some one that will benefit from your life insurance. Like your wife. :rof:

Any Reason That Aftermarket H2 Rims WOULDN'T Fit A Duramax?

My SRW :) 96 Burb 8 lug wheels are definitely hub centric. All GM 8 lugs I have ever took note of were a tight fit on the pilot. Tire Rack is right 22's are definitely not heavy load carrying tires. More pimping tires. Unless they are 22.5's :)

    Highest hp 6.2 non turbo

That "other" diesel truck website did a big article about a NA build up years ago. Do a little Google-ing.

All new steering linkage but still something funky going on...

Me thinks 3500GMC is on to something... Go over the parts and make sure they are the correct ones for the application and they are in the correct locations/positions. RTFM also, there might be a gotcha in there. I have been bit by more than one pimply faced counter kid at the parts store. Even...

Look whats in my shop two 454 chevys.

A buddy had a guy lined up to assemble these he had to go back home which was out of the country for some reason so I volunteered to assemble them. Should be fun except for the fact my back is acting up and pulling on a torque wrench is painful. Its been awhile since I have been inside an...

Any Reason That Aftermarket H2 Rims WOULDN'T Fit A Duramax?

What I do know is like Ford did in the late 90's GM went to metric 8 lug wheels in 2011. I am almost certain the GM 2010 and back 8 X 6.5 wheels fit all GM's and Hummers H1 as far as the hub goes. I remember seeing a 90's Sub at car show with H1 wheels and from then on I wanted a set. I know...

Any Reason That Aftermarket H2 Rims WOULDN'T Fit A Duramax?

Can you look up the pilot hole, offset, and so on specs on the wheel MFG's website? Or may be have a chat with Tire Racks customer service?

    Goodyear Wrangler Authority Tire

Tire rack ships fairly quick. They have several distribution centers if you are near one = bonus! Sam's club is a good place to get tires I have bought many there over the years. (Yes I know Sams = Walmart but they have different deals). Goodyear has several rebates going on for truck tires BTW.

Code 78 even after replaced WG solenoid, twice.

X2 On these heavily electronic vehicles never force points to 12V or gnd. Unless you really really really know what you are doing, have the factory manual and can read the schematic to make sure you are not going to blow up any thing expensive. Ok you (as Ferm said) have by passed the...

Code 78 even after replaced WG solenoid, twice.

Indeed... IIRC those are 2 bar sensors so yours Ferm likely failed to the 5v rail. it was putting out up near 5v all the time. But not enough to set a over boost code? Back probe the boost and baro sensors (if you don't have a scanner) and see if the output makes sense. They have 3 wires...

Code 78 even after replaced WG solenoid, twice.

Hold on, the drive to the solenoid is likely from an open collector transistor. I don't have my books here so I can look it up for sure but IIRC one side of the connector should have 12V on it and the other side is pulled to ground by a bipolar transistor (or a FET) to make the current flow. So...
