I have the set up from xxdieselsupply.... It is the duramax fan. When standing by the driver door I can feel a good bit of air blowing on my feet when it is idling. Works great.
I have plenty of plugs here...
There should be a sticker on your dryer that has the specs for your system that should display that amount of Freon required for the system. The best thing to do is put a set of gauges on it! I believe it won't work if overcharged.
This is an old thread, but I am still having some issues and need some help. I have had the injection pump rebuilt, and the new injectors tested. The truck runs awesome. however, this is what it is doing. When the motor has been warmed up and under normal driving conditions and I shut it...
this same sort of thing happens in my gasser suburban. I say sort or because it blows cold going down the freeway but idle and round town it blows semi cold. Is this due to an extra orfice? I was told by the shop when I had it worked on several years ago that it was just the way suburbans...
More air... would this mean more boost? I still think I went a little over on the timing. The guy at the shop said to set it about three line widths to the driver side. It was dark and I was getting tired. I think I might have it a little more than three line widths. When I get the gauges on...
Well, It is after 1 am my time. I finished the pump project. Came out with 3 extra clips and nuts. These originally held the fuel lines in place under the intake. I fought long and hard to get them back in. I finally gave in and left them out. Seems that when I loosened up all the lines to...
FINALLY!!!! The shop called and my pump will be ready today at 3pm. After it is all said and done, I have done the FTB mod, except for the injection pump end (not an easy task by any means on a DB2), new rubber fuel lines from the manager to the front of the motor, plumbed in "T" for future...
Koots- great stuff. I have already put in new injectors about 10k miles ago. I went ahead and did the FTB mod since it was all out. I went ahead and plumbed in a T in the fuel line between the FM and IP. This will be ran up and capped on the upper side of the intake so that later I can...
Been thinking about the fuel filter manager. What would happen if one was to cut the heater element off and left the heater element un-plugged. I see this as increasing the fuel rate. Any thoughts?.
Well, I finally bit the bullet and pulled my Db2 off and took it to a local Stanadyne Shop for a refurbishing. It was smoking excessively after driving it a while and killing it-starting it back up. It would put out a nice cloud of blue smoke and then it would clear up. Was told it was the...
I have read several times through this forum as well as others that the Fuel filter only needs changing when the flow rate drops indicating there is plugging. If I understand right, the water separator is actually just a chemical treatment to the micron filter element. The question I have is...
Spend a little time on you tube and you can learn how to rewrap the steering wheel. Take it off. Take the center piece out. Take a brand new razor blade and cut the stitching to remove the old leather. This then becomes the pattern for the new wrap. Take a sewing machine that is durable...
Judging by the lack of information available, this will be a very unique build. Looking forward to it. Been looking through "the LIST" at 2002 and 2003 model 2500-3500HD. I will probably take get a gasser for the base. My goal is to make it all appear as factory as possible and to be neat...
Wow... read the whole thread. I am not looking to make a race truck. That was way too much work. But in the end he had electrical problems as well. The PCM controllers, do those only operate the tranny on an auto? or do they convert the signals for all the sensors on the motor as well?
What about the electronics. In the '02 there seems to be more electronics that there are in the late 90 models. I think everything from the speedo to the tach all run off the computer. Would I have to find a diesel gauge cluster? or is there some sort of computer interface that can be hooked...
With the 02 Gm's its cheaper to find the gassers than diesel. Is it possible to put a cummins in that set up? Is the gasser tranny a 4l80E ? or is it an Allison? Im looking at a 02 gasser 4x4.
