I want to hire....THE A TEAM!
I'm very excited about this thread! I've read and read and read, I now have a headache (but a good one!) How will this turbo work on my 1994 OBD1 K2500 with 5 speed, I now have a 4" exhaust. Will I or can I rechip or is it necessary? Now that it is 2012 and this...
I tore the truck apart, two bolts holding the cross over exhaust pipe broke, I found a dry pilot bearing, a dry throwout bearing, the dual mass flywheel was floppy, one of the springs in it was rubbing on something. The disk was in good shape tho. I also found one of the oil gallery plugs was...
Thanks AK, But what I need to know is when I change the pressure plate, disk, pilot bearing and throw out bearing.....Should I keep the dual mass fly wheel, or should I hunt down a used or new solid flywheel?
OK for the past few days I push in the clutch, there is a rubbing sound (but not always), I figure it is the throwout bearing, and today the tranny was grinding going into reverse. I shut the truck off and put it in reverse and restarted the truck, parked it, then everything was OK. If I have to...
Hi Jester, So you said you get less oil now with this set up? Is it because the elbows flow better than stock hence lower vacuum? I re-read you earlier post, is the grommet you mentioned also the PCV Valve you mentioned part "#pcv gromit is 42323" and is on the "HELP" shelf at NAPA? I'm hoping...
65L I sure agree with you! I don't believe a diesel should just idle around either, they need to be pushed harder at times to keep things clean. I bought my truck from a fellow who idled it around town for 15 years, It had 135,000 km when I bought it. I changed the filters and oil right away. On...
Welcome!
Being a weird and seemingly an electrical problem, I'd think outside the box, check for fuel pressure at your fuel filter spigot mounted at the thermostat with and without electrical load (good idle-bad idle), perhaps your lift pump doesn't always work due to a ground or a voltage...
STANDARD ALL THE WAY! All the classifieds I saw while I was shopping for my 6.5 STANDARD said "fresh" or "rebuilt" or "new AUTOMATIC transmission" Standards won't make you feel like your in a minefield with booms and bangs, shifting hard enough to bruise kidneys, leak oil for no reason then...
I have a 1994 6.5 2500 sle with air....What thermostat did these trucks come with stock? My gauge reads celcius.... It always reads around 80c and takes a long time to heat up. Does GM have a 195?, (I ask this as toyota only had 1 temp for my turbo diesel) And I don't want any dumb looks from...
Well now that I have a 4" exhaust, I gutted my airbox down to the filter, I will try not to put into it to hear that great turbo whistle......and report true fuel mileage..... However I used my GPS and I discovered (I also suspected this following a friend on a long trip) that my speedo is out...
I'm sorry, I wanted to add the remote start to my wifes car. Her car has a built in FOB in the key for anti theft. Without a module to allow a remote starter feature, the car won't start. This module costs 3 times the amount I paid for the remote starter which I want to install in her car. So I...
I have two, one I bought for my wifes car and then I found out it has a fob key, and a mod that would allow a remote start is worth 3 times the price I paid for the remote. I may sell it.....It is loaded with features including diesel start, cold weather start for diesels (starts every 2 hours)...
I have one waiting to go in, I need to figure out the wiring on a 1994 6.5L diesel so I can proceed. My remote start comes with alarm, remote door locks, cold weather auto start, a whole list of features. I've been looking off and on for a schematic, but so far I have only found guys who want...
EXHAUST in! NICE but I have some boost questions...
Thanks for the info guys, my local stores didn't have the tape, so I just installed the pipe. The 4" looks great and sounds great on the truck, I had thought it may look huge! but really it looks just right. I can hear some turbo whistle with...
Oh summer time is coming, we get daylight here til about 10:45 pm, so you can expect HARLEYS accellerating very hard in the burbs, we live in a bowl, you can hear them for miles.... Also those badly tuned lifted ford turbo diesels with straight pipe doing exactly the same thing, doing at least...
'ROUND-THE-WORLD LEFT TURN'= someone who signals a left turn and never cancels the signal for M I L E S, and yet with vehicle "BODY LANGUAGE" IE braking, swerving...slowing..... you expect him to actually make that turn, but never does.
Also no headlights at night..... no dash lights you cannot...
I'd see if the noise is there when parked, engine running. Use mechanics stethoscope and poke around carefully and you will be very surprised at what you will hear. I had an alternator whine with a card in spoke sound on a 1993....WELCOME!!!!
Now that I feel better and healthier, I took the pipe out of the box....
OK this is no joke......, I laid out the pipe to have a looksee.... my wife sees the pipe asks me if I can teach our little dog to go through the twisty tunnel!!! :rof:( I was going to post here "how I keep the stray cats...
