Rear diff has a 500 mile break-in. I ran mine 500 miles unloaded, then 500 towing the trailer. Then I changed the fluid. There was a ton of metal in it. Ran the truck 50k. Changed the fluid again. It was almost as clear as the new stuff I put in.
I've seen 1802. Peak, short burst.

Cruise and T/H is always on when towing. The truck takes to long to down shift, so I force a down shift when needed by locking out O/D. I also set the cruise and lock out O/D on certain down hill runs (I80 west in to Sac). As long as traffic permits...I can do almost the entire stretch with out...
I had the same problem with one of mine.
I had to widen the holes in the upper bracket and mount the u-bolt off to one side to get mine straight. Passenger side for me.
