    Harmonic Balancer

I end up calling Jeg's just to see if they had it. They are closer than Bill and I need it fast. I think it was $469 with over night service. IIRC it was $419....

    Harmonic Balancer

Thanks guy's I knew the process I figure I'd ask if the Fluidampener had any tricks to the install. Much appreciate the responses.;)

    Harmonic Balancer

My truck started to shake unexpectedly this evening. I end up stopping to fuel up and found the outer ring of the balancer came off and was forward to the pulley I could grab it and move it around. I have a Fluidamper coming over night tomorrow. Is there anything I need to know about installing...

    Oil Pressure gauge flutter

Hey guys, I have good oil pressure I tested with a mechanical gauge. But at idle the electrical gauge the needle bounces back and forth between 30 and 40 psi. I replaced the OPS but it still does it. Any ideas? Thanks

    CDR What do you think?

Why not use a PCV from the oil filler tube to the intake elbow? Or even a line from the oil filler to an exhaust evacuation valve mounted in the downpipe right after the turbo? You think this would work simular to the CDR?

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

Today I towed the trailer again but with the steel fan. I had about 29K combined. I had to start uphill twice and I was amazed how well the truck did. It is about the heaviest load I have ever towed. The temp at cruise was one line past 180 till the starts on the hill. It moved 2 lines from 180...

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

On the Heath site the fan clutch by itself labeled "HEAVY-DUTY Fan Drive 2000-2001 GM 6.5" Looks exactly like my old clutch. I am going to try just changing the fan and see if there is any change.

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

The Hayden site shows for a 99 6.5 should be a 2840. I have a 2843 which is off a 01-05 6.6 D-Max. Brooklyn Tow and Acesneights1 can you guys look at the front of your fan clutches and tell me what the first 4 digits are stamped on there?

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

This is what Bill sent me and it doesn't engage at all.....

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

He should, I think he does it for a living? Obviously the the fans are not identical the new fan is 21" and the old one is 20". The 21" should exceed the performance of the 20" easily. So I must conclude the clutch on the 21" fan engages at a higher temp. the clutch on the 21" is bigger than the...

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

Is there a part number for the clutch by itself? I was thinking maybe swap the new fan to the old clutch......

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

I only had it on for a week but no hard driving til I had to pull the trailer at about 20K+ combined. When I saw the needle just over 210 I got really nervous it did o back down to normal temp but the it shouldn't do that. There shouldn't be any breakin period right? I even cleaned the radiator...

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

OK, here is the pics of the fans. 15992650 on the 99 steel fan. The steel fan keeps the needle at 1 line past 180 all day long... 15010202 is the number on this fan, so it is the same fan. It just doesn't cool it like the steel one. You guys think the fan clutch is faulty?

    Understanding Marine Injectors

Sure but the IP is designed to be able to perform from a min to a max. I would think running the IP over 85-90 percent of it's operating range would be the point where it needs to be stopped. I think that is why the need for marine pumps with the larger plungers that can extend the threshold of...

    Understanding Marine Injectors

The way it was explained to me by Bill is that they don't give you 40HP, but rather the ability to be able to give you more fuel to support 40 additional HP. Really if the pop off pressure would be able to be raised then the fuel volume would be increased. On the mechanical pumps you turn them...

That is exactly what the H1 does but the 3500 doesn't.

I'm going to the shop now I wonder if there is a temp rating casted or stamped into the clutches?

    Heath Cooling upgrade.......

When I laid the fans on top of each other they were identical except for materials. One was plastic, one was steel. The same number of blades. And the angle of the blades were the same. The only items sent to me were the 2 new GM 195 degree t-stats, the fan/fan clutch assembly and the waterpump...
