    New Battery experiences please share

I run nothing but Interstate once I found out I can get the blems for $35.00 a piece. I believe they are 850CCA. I've gotten 5-6 years out each set I've purchased for my trucks. We also run these in all of our equipment with no problems.

That 20 sec was after an injector change and having to get the air out. Starts right up now. Best it's started since I got the truck last year. It was in the high 20's this morning, second crank over it started right up.

    glow plugs and injectors

the burban fired right up after about 20 sec of cranking. I'm amazed at how easy it started, always had issues with the fords. It's running great, started right up yesterday at 30F. Thanks everyone for the advice

    glow plugs and injectors

I agree with that, this just looks a real mother to bleed off once the heat shields, intake and oil line is back in place. Will find out tonight.

    glow plugs and injectors

I just got the passenger side gp's in. Since I'm in the process of finishing up the injectors and gp's, I found that I could get to the number 8 gp from above, no problem. With the tire off and removable flap out, I was able to get the two towards the front no problem. The third one back...

    glow plugs and injectors

Let's start off saying I'm a pretty good diesel mechanic, mostly working on Fords and constructiion equipment. I've spent the couple nights working on my Suburban to change the glow plugs and injectors. Injectors because I'm not sure how many miles are on them and the glow plugs because she...

    Low budget battery recommendations.

I've had great luck with getting batteries from the Interstate Battery dealers. I buy there 2nds or blems whatever you want to call them, $35.00 a piece for them. That's all that I've been buying for the past 6-7 years and have have no problems getting 5+ years out of them.

Could something as dumb as a.............

I had a ton of problems with my suburban because the previous owner put on a locking gas cap right before I got it. It would create such a vacuum that the hose going to the tank would be sucked shut. I had problems with the truck missing, stalling, and hard start. I went to Napa to get a true...

burban died then came back to life

I was just out getting lunch when pulling out of the parking lot the suburban just died, like someone turned off the key. I put the truck in park and started cranking it, no fire. Since I was in a busy area I let the truck roll back into a parking spot and opened the hood to have a look. I...

Need a good shop to work on my burban in NE Ohio

I recently took a nasty fall and hurt my wrist, it's looking like it will be a while before I can turn a wrench and I usually do all my own work. My problem now is that I really need to have the glow plugs changed on my 97 suburban, hard starting at 50F this morning. I have a new set of...

    97 6.5l SUBURBAN STARTING PROBLEMS

I came home, tried switching the starter relay for the ac relay. Still didn't start. Decided I needed to get it into the garage where it was cooler, 90deg here today. I reached under the truck to jump the starter and found a loose wire. Tightened the wire and the truck started right up. I'm...

    97 6.5l SUBURBAN STARTING PROBLEMS

As I said earlier, both batteries are new, grounds have been checked / cleaned, did the bolt mod for the battery terminals. All that is good. Did some more digging at lunch, going to inspect the starter relay when I get home. Other idea is maybe the neutral safety switch.

    97 6.5l SUBURBAN STARTING PROBLEMS

I'm having issues with my Subruban starting. I'm leaning towards the ignition switch in the steering column but want a second or third opinion. This past Friday I got in the burb to head out, hit the key and nothing, not a click or anything. I was in a hurry so I jumped in my other truck and...
