Got mine off ebay and remember the 1995 is a unique part and I mine did look different than the original I pull out. I seem to recall it was reworked (hopefully for the good)
The fact they fell apart they are old and brittle. The older glow plugs did have a habit of swelling and making it a real bear to remove. Get some 60g AC Delco or equivalent plugs that are self limiting and won't swell up.
You might even want to get the old fuel out and some fresh stuff in there. Fuel conditioner for algae and moisture problems. With these diesels you want good compression, good fuel, good cranking speed and good grounds.
You would think that would be the case, but there was a very lengthy thread back a while ago which had similar problems and after many pages (and stumped gurus) it was poor compression from sitting a long period of time. Bit of oil an it was happy again. Glows not working definitely a good...
How long was the truck sitting without running before you bought it? Rings might not be sealing good, adding a slight bit of oil in through the glow plug hole would help or maybe just a good long run.
I had a problem with mine (1995) a while back and it was the control head failed. It would cause the a gate to move to direct air flow to floor no matter where the setting was, the A/C compressor would not engage and something else weird (can't remember) all started acting up at the same...
Here is what the kit looks like. A plug for the back injector on each side and the a tube to connect the rest of the injectors to each other per side.

I mentioned in my first post about injuring my thumb while swapping parts out. I waited a week or so until my thumb was really red and puffy before going into the walk in clinic to get it checked out. I was sitting in the exam room when the doc walked in and I knew it was bad when the first...
Thanks bk95td, I could see the leak and it is not leaking now. I will be pressure testing next week to see if the tabs worked. I will not trust this patch but it has saved my butt at the moment. I would really like to do it on an engine stand but I am so busy at work and my wife drives it...
Thanks Missy, I could lay underneath the truck and watch it leak from the head gasket. Very slowly until system depressured. The GM tabs work almost instantly, not a drop since I added them and gave it a good warm up drive.
Wish lived closer I would get you to build me a "Missy Special"...
Thanks for the feed back guys, I can see the small leak at the seam between the head and the block. At this point the sealer is working to buy me some time. I will do a pressure test next week and determine if one or both need to be done. If just the driver's side I will do an in truck head...
