Yeah, I didn't realize they were 14" rotors until I took them out of the box. I couldn't believe the size of those bastards. Good thing I got free shipping because two rotors and 4 pads was 55lbs.
Ended up with some R1 Premium rotors to replace the stock brakes. The stock set up wasn't all that bad but I hear they're prone to warping. These are 14" rotors and rather heavy.
Anyways, I got a good deal on these. Switched from a semi metallic pad to a ceramic HD pad.
Took about 1.5 hours...
I dont think I'll be doing any manitnenance on my car considering that it took me an hour to change out fog light bulbs. The entire underside of my car has whats called a "belly pan", which is a plastic shield that covers EVERYTHING. It took me damn near an hour just to undo the 7439 bolts and...
Well, mine was a tick under $800. It was purely an impulse purchase. I didn't want to pay for a stock, factory NAV that was a $2000 option from the dealer. Thats absurd. Pioneer or Kenwood are pretty much top of the line and not much else can compare. That's what I should've done.
But, $1500...
These days, it seems that everything they say is "plug and play" is really not. I had to cut some plastic pieces out of the inner dash to get mine to fit. Cutting hard plastic with a serrated knife is not what I'd call "plug and play", assuming they even sent me the correct CANBUS decoder, which...
I bought mine for my car but it was an off brand, Canadian company. I paid $750 and it's actually really nice, looks completely stock and is functional. I really should've gone with a Kenwood or Pioneer though. This one I have has no connections for my Sirrius, which came with the car from the...
Sounds like your fogs are getting constant power. Basically, you lost control of the switch and have to run them all the time.
Try to remove the one diode for your DRLs first. That'll make things easier. Next, switch around the diode and face it the opposite way with the one going to the fogs...
I was also gonna recommend the Amsoil filter. Those stock ones though are pretty damn hard to beat.
Fram = Spam
And among the worst performing and worst lasting filter out on the market. They've been known to break apart when the motor is under heavy load.
I never changed out a bulb either once I put the amber bulbs in mine. In fact, I took the bulbs out of my 04 and put them directly into my 07 right there on the dealership lot. The salesman looked at me like I was a loon.
And I had that truck for 3 years and they were still running strong...
I dont think S&B was tested because I'm not sure that they were out yet. Banks uses S&B filters, although, they don't make that public. AFE did fair out well if I remember right.
K&N proved to be the worst filtering one out on the market, in 15 or so different filters tested.
Gimme a few...
I think most have the clear lids. It's an oiled filter though but the MAF should be far enough up stream that you won't have ay problems. I've never actually seen or heard, nor had any problems myself with oil getting on the MAF. I personally think that's nearly impossible to happen, especially...
I think the GM truck intakes have been pretty decent for a few years now. I can visually see the 04's in my mind and what they look like. If I remember right, they have a large tomor looking resonator in the tube somewhere dont they?
If you're gonna do it, I personally would stick with a...
S&B intakes have done very well for several years now. I looked at those for my Chally. I ended up buying an AFE intake but sold it after a week. It was entirely too loud for my tastes.
I read and read and after all the research that I did, I realized that I wasted my money. I bought an SRT...
Without hijacking this thread completely....
This is the most ridiculous statement I've seen all year. Jeff and I are paying the bills here to keep this site FREE for everyone, to include anyone who drives a DMAX, Ford, Dodge, or even a Pinto. And EVERYONE here can post ANYWHERE they like...
You know Devin, I just thought about this the other day, literally. Problem is that my sound on my computer isn't working so I'd be blindly uploading a soundless video and posting it here. It's do-able though.
Here's a good vid:
