Seems that the OPS has resolved the really flaky issues I've been experiencing. Vehicle stalling, loping, fish-biting. My oldest son, Jon did the physical work. Actually the truth be told, he and I have been looking through the technical articles and Heaths old blog...and he trouble shot the OPS...
Hmm...would be interesting to put a simple LED in the dash/cab going to the power lead of the LP...that would indicate no power under OPS failure. That would be a simple install and could be referenced if driving and issues are being experienced.
Ok, thanks for the input. I'll get the OEM and...
Thanks for the very positive comments gents. I have a considerable amount of learning to do, so this forum will become somewhat of a home for me during that process. One thing of note that I'll share...the wife commented the other day that perhaps we need another. I do believe she's embracing...
I'm not...you are, thus I call you often for input ;)
I can't believe you're suggesting that I remove the extra comfy buckets so that my children can fit in...*gasp* lol - I'd prefer to get the seat that goes 'tween them, that also folds down and has drink holders :P
I didn't chat with Bill I don't believe, but the gent that assisted me was excellent and chatted about other performance improvements as well. Thanks mudbath :)
Fixed leak...
The leak has been fixed. Getting the thread remnant out was a pain, but I pulled the intake and used a dremel to weaken the piece. I didn't buzz all the way through...didn't need to. Then used a fine point punch to bust it up. Needle nose pliers helped extract. Then a 1/2 NTP...
Mike...I'm working on the family bus *grin* it will be called an MCI with the detroit diesel. We'll come up and visit ya'll again when we have it converted (gotta buy it first though).
The jump seat is something we're looking at. Actually want to get one for the rear and then one between the...
Just read this again and will most likely try this method instead...

Thanks also for the thoughts on the Suburban...even with the issues I'm really enjoying it so far. As another note I've ordered the Heath PMD kit. I'm trusting the new PMD will eliminate the surging and dying issues I shared before. Kit arrives next week, so looking forward to getting that on.
Thanks for all the input gents...much appreciated!
Ok update...as many have experienced, that aluminum quick-attach on the manifold broke with minimal pressure. I'm going to get an internal pipe wrench tomorrow a.m. to see about extracting the inside piece that was left. I've picked up a 1/2...
Sandersville GA is approx 3.5 hours drive...a ways. I read through the quick disco hose post that mudbath linked to...a great post. Thanks for the input.
Ok, so let's assume that the cooling system is working exactly as it should, with a clean RAD...what should normal operating temp be at 65mph on a long drive?
Thanks for the welcome!
So, how long should it take for the upper hose to get hard in your reference? I let it run for a few mins and it didn't get hard.
Additionally, the LP is brand spankin' new from the looks of it and the connector. I think the PO got tired of trying to fix the stalling and such and decided to sell.
Found cooling issue...
When taking the plastic cover off to examine the PMD, we accidentally pushed on a hose and heard air...inspecting a bit more we found this bad connection. Started the engine and watched the drip, drip, drip of the coolant.
Tomorrow the hose is getting replaced...
