    Lets talk exhaust brakes

BD does make a 6.5 kit. I believe they also make an electronic lock-up for the 4L80E OBD-II. I have seen a few on 6.5's here in BC as BD is local..(Abbotsford BC)

    ABS question

Problem found (I hope) Ok changed the drivers side caliper as well last week. Same problem. Bled brakes drove a couple hundred and bled them again. Same problem. Had new tires installed (needed them anyway) Same problem. Basically at low speed when applying the brakes the ABS would fire...

1 year old fuel -- safe to use?

Use it ... I ran 3-4 year furnace oil (diesel) in my '95. Had 600 gallons of it. It was free for the pumpin...just put 2x power service or 1qt of 30 weight motor oil per tank.

    Reading IAT - from sensor

My brother in law has an Actron code scanner. I believe you can read sensors live. I don't know for sure but will ask him. About $130.00 at the auction site.

    285's on a Diesel Sub?

Need new tires. Choices are 285 BFG's or 265 BFG's or 255-85 coopers. Will the 285's go on a Sub with no rubbing? How much will my mileage be affected, currently have 245's. I had 285 dunlops on my '95 k1500 and still got decent mpg. Any one got a picture of 285's on a Sub?

Snapped a picture when I removed my intake to access PMD the other day. It appears I have a 506?

    ABS question

Thanks for the idea but way more "quan"... I bought a reman caliper with new pins for the right side for $38.00 my cost...(that's $27.75 USD) I think I will replace the left as well. The US-CDN exchange rate does not favour us north of 49 right now. However I was thinking about a rear disc...

    ABS question

Driving home from Vancouver the other afternoon and my right front caliper locks up. It was smoking when I took my Wife into the Mcd's for a late lunch. (big spender eh) Used a screwdriver to free it up and drove home. Replaced only the right side caliper with a reman and bled the brakes...

    Resistor question

When relocating my PMD to an FSD I noticed I have a #7 resistor. Is there any benefit (economy or power) to changing to a different size resistor?

    Reverse FLARE.

I think I will test lift pump pressure. Got all service records when I bought the truck and cannot find a receipt for lift pump replacement. 4 IP's replaced under warranty and 3 PMD's. But not a single lift pump.

    Reverse FLARE.

Almost installed a new one yesterday. Currently it's installed in my glove box..Will check lift pump today. 7-10 psi at idle and >1 at wot?

    Reverse FLARE.

Hmmm, I can't remember if the new lift pump cured it on my '95 or not...I better check my lift pump. My 99 has also stalled about 3-4 times on me. Usually when i suddenly back off the throttle after missing a light or something. Maybe it's related? I have owned it for 1 year next week put over...

    Reverse FLARE.

What causes reverse flare? I had it a few times in my '95 and twice in my '99. (Reverse flare as I understand it is when the truck suddenly accelerates just for a second when in reverse.) I moved the PMD off the pump today. What a PIA. Mounted it to a large piece of heat sink. Bolted the...

215 Hp GM program myth or actually exists

90kmh 3rd gear...stayed at 11psi for over 1 minute till EGT's got to 1200. Boost gauge should be correct as truck has about 3 psi on the flat freeway at 110kmh. I had about 600lbs of rigging tools in the truck. I have seen 11psi before when towing for over a minute, but again EGT's get too high...

215 Hp GM program myth or actually exists

I have been thinking that my 1999 Sub has a "hotter" than stock tune. It has a 4" exhaust and no cat. On Saturday I ran up the Coquihalla to Kamloops. The highway had about 6 inches of snow on a 11% or so grade. I was in 4x4 with 11lbs of boost and egt's hitting 1200 Pre turbo. I had to back off...

    Aftermarket Engine Oil Cooler Kit......

When I did my '95 I cut the 1-1/4" wrench to about 2/3 original length. This made it considerably easier to get the block fittings on and off. Removal of the oil filter adapter and driveshaft helped (if 4x4), and replace the 3 O rings in the adapter. O ring sizes are here...

Remote FSD with cable where did you run it?

Bought a new FSD from Pennascola. Had a big piece of aluminum heat sink laying around my shop and fabbed up a remote cooler and mounted behind license plate. Got a 6' extension harness. What's the best way to run from the IP to the front bumper?

    Suburban tire size

What size tires are you running on K2500 6.5TD Suburbans? It has 245-75-16 on it now. I was going to go to 235-85-16 or 285-75-16. I had 255-85-16 on my last Sub but it was a 1989 K2500.
