I did the mod on my Sub...but the crappy Canadian tire batteries don't have good enough thread inserts in the side posts. After about 6 months they were stripped so I cut the cable ends off and went to old school top posts as the batteries had top and side posts. No problems now.
On an 8 stud you need to remove wheel bearing assembly to access the ABS sensor. You can buy sensor separate, some hubs come with, some don't. Sometimes just the wires are pooched...
Best part of the tow was filling up in Sumas WA...had 991km on the Odometer. 991x10% for oversized tires is about 1090 km..which is 681 miles.
Took 38 gallons US. That is almost 18mpg at 60mph.. Trailer weighs 2500lbs going down empty, and car weighs 2800lbs = 5300lbs coming back. I'm Happy...
It's a 986 (Boxster) 5 speed.
Clean title, California and Washington owners.
Just need to complete the "government paperwork" up here...
Actually easier to import a car to Canada then I thought.
Cars and trucks are much cheaper in the USA...and better selection.
I was gonna buy a new Harley but Momma didn't want to ride on the back anymore...we decided on a convertible. So I have been looking for a Boxster for some time now. Momma asked if I was going to take the Dodge...I said heck no...Dragged her home from Washington State today...
An easy method, OK a method of removing a broken pipe nipple or hose barb it to use a a 5/16" punch ground on an angle. You put the round side of the punch toward the thread and collapse the nipple or barb into itself. Work your way around the nipple. This has never failed me. Some have been in...
Yeah hopefully just a blip...this is the first 6.5 that I have owned that actually stalled on me. I remote mounted PMD to the bumper and tightened the nuts on the back and it has been good for the last 10,000km or so. Truck had new pump, injectors etc. at 197,000km. at dealer before I bought it...
Nope...was taking my son to a basketball game and he had the wrong uniform(home instead of away) anyway we had to hustle back home. I live in the Mountains behind Mission B.C. Fairly steep hills and I was on the throttle pretty good. Pulled into the driveway and shutdown quick to give him the...
Yes you can do that with the manual transfer case shifter. My Brother built a cable engaged unit for his 95 6.5 dually when his actuator went south. It is Redneck but it works. He spent about $10.00 on it.
No more blinking lights
Problem was the front diff. actuator. Apparently there is a contact closure inside that tells the autotrac that the front diff is engaged. The light stays on steady when contact is made. 98-99 are different from 95-97 even if they have the newer style actuator. Wire...
2 fuses are good. 4WD and Transfer case fuse.
Ok 4L engages as the truck goes into Low range...drove around the block. 4L light still flashes. Transfer case seems to be engaged, because I could turn front driveshaft before trying to engage in 4h, but cannot turn it after 4h button pushed. 4WD...
4L and 4H same deal. I am going out to my garage to look for a loose connection.
From memory: Switch goes to actuator on transfer case and then to actuator on front diff. Power comes back to switch to light the indicator.
