I'm pretty sure I'm jumping aboard the A-team soon also, need to order some other parts and I'm pretty certain I'll make sure one of those turbos is in on that shipment! (And from what I hear, an extra muffler also..?)
Thanks, I have replaced my alt once myself, not sure about the pulley size though (or the alternative ones..) What belt size did you use before the vac delete?
I have had those codes going for an embarrassing long time, combined with hard starting and driveability issues. Fixed it yesterday by replacing the optic sensor and boy what a difference a day makes. I got a new truck again, I didn't even remember how well she was supposed to run. I think...
The DTECH is accepted as the best replacement PMD/FSD? I'm a little outdated on this issue, last time I looked much into it there wasn't so many options..
This thread is maybe a little old, but I'm pretty sure I will shell out for those pitman and idler braces eventually. I think the kit is a bit on the expensive side, but if it can save me from the job of replacing that pitman arm even once I think it's worth it. I hated that job!!
If money...
in this case Big Is Beautifull for sure!! ;)
In a way I think it's a bummer that 3" downpipe is all there is. Wouldn't it in a perfect world make more sense to have it the other way around. Starting at 4" and then step down as the hotter air takes more space then the cooled down air further...
I'm itchin' in my draw fingers but I should probably wait a lil' more. I have so much stuff on order I'll be wrenchin till christmas (if I'm not struck by a lightning of mechanical insight that is)..
Am I too slow for that $745 price? I'm sitting on the fence now and really ain't sure what side of it I'll end up on. I already have plans on stretching my credit on a lot of maintenance parts for the front end. BUT it would be so nice to balance out all the wrench time spent on maintenance...
isn't that pitman nut a 33mm or sumthin? I remember it was almost impossible to track one down around here 32mm and 34mm was all over the place but not the 33mm.. I ended up borrowing one from a local explosives factory actually.
Ain't that how it usually is, you have double up of...
Hi
I'm planning on doing a massive front end overhaul replacing ball joints, bushings, wheel hubs and maybe cv axles(my boots have been torn for a while). Living in europe i (for the most) have only metric tools and wonder what (if any) SAE sizes I would need for this job?
Excellent info!
I'm reading myself green on timing stuff now as I discovered that my car code reader is up to snuff on it. I didn't realize before, thought all the functionality I would get out of it was a code reader. :)
I did pitman and idler arm a while back. My first wrench job on this truck, had a hard time finding the right socket for that one I recall. I had to take those bolts out to free up the steering box as mentioned. I used some cargo straps to hold it for me while going at it with the pitman arm...
