You might just have to unplug it and put jumpers on the wiring depending on whether it is a normally open or normally closed circuit. They sure dump a lot of soot in the intake! I just did the manifold gaskets on my '99 suburban with a 5.7.

That is exactly what the previous owner of my truck did. So when all my rear lights went hay wire I had to fix all the engineering:eek: Not too mention buy a new trailer plug for the hitch cause they cut it off to fit the flat bed.:mad2::mad2:
I have always knocked them off with a punch or carefully sliced them with a torch. Then tap it on carefully with a brass punch. I will probably get flamed for even mentioning that procedure but I have done it multiple times.
Does it have a locker? Did you pull out your axle shafts? You can pull them by just unbolting them without taking off the wheels. You might have stripped the gears if you spun a shaft.
There is an expensive repacement for that HUEI pump. It is supposed to be way better and manage the oil pressure better. I think is 2 machined to go back to back.
Losing prime? Could be the fuel shut off. Or There was a brass fitting where the lines came to the engine from the tank on the passenger side of the engine that was cracked internally and would make our service truck lose prime straight to the tank with no external leak. I believe it has the...
